Pretty rough experience here, but stand by: You will enjoy this story. In summary, I suggest you find a different Home Depot if it's even remotely possible. I ordered curbside pickup, and after 6 hrs and 35 min of waiting for pickup ready notification, I didn't get it so I went to the store. (I was picking up a picnic table on 16 Aug 24 if the manager reads this and wants more detail.) I got there went to the customer service desk. I was called up to one of the counters, and gave the woman my order number. She typed it in and from there it was just surreal. Describing it is complicated because it won't make sense. She said something to another woman there who used a handheld device to look up the order as well. She said, "They are just waiting on the picnic table." So I was guessing the rest of the items were already up front. That wasn't the case. So far, nothing really out of the ordinary except that it took 6 hours to get a picnic table from the back to the front. (They had 10+ in stock.) Where it got surreal was that I just stood there for 20 minutes. No joke, just stood there with no feedback. When I asked she said "he went to go get it." Meanwhile this customer service lady just stood there the whole time. She couldn't help anyone else really, because I was still at her counter. It was like having me stand there was protecting her from having to deal with anyone else. At about the 20 minute point I asked her if I could cancel the picnic table and just leave with the other items that I was guessing were up front. She helped by canceling the table, but then when I asked her about the other items she said they were not up front either. Describing this doesn't actually convey how strange it was in person. She wasn't angry, nor was I. It wasn't confrontational at all, just weird because of the three ladies in the customer service area, they were competing to see who could be more apathetic. Almost like a prank I wasn't in on. It was clear no one cared about my order, so I left to go pick up the items on my own. I found them checked out up front, and then went into the home depot app to cancel the other items that never made their way to the pickup area. As luck would have it, I wasn't able to cancel them and needed to go BACK to Twilight Zone that is the Customer Service/Pickup Area. I half expected a camera crew to jump out and have a bunch of producers laughing and saying I was on a tv segment meant to see how customers react to crazy situations employees put them in. That wasn't the case. This time I went back to the same representative who told me she was helping someone. There was no one within 100 feet of her! (Again, I expected someone to jump out with a camera.) I caught another lady in blue and politely asked if she was free to help me cancel an item. This lady was old-for-this-earth old, and was in no mood to do anything quickly. Probably tired after putting up with frustrated customers all day on a Friday is my guess. I was being overly nice to her, mostly because I was sure I was being pranked. When I asked her to help me cancel the remaining items in my order and that I couldn't cancel the order from my app, she said, "Why do you want to put that on me?" I jokingly though to myself, "Just go with it -- when the cameras come out it will be better to have had no reaction whatsoever to her." I read her the order number and watching her type in the order number, getting them wrong, starting over, resetting the screen, etc, was pretty comical. She got the job done, but oh my jeepers was that an ordeal. It wasn't until I got back to my car and realized there was no production company involved and that I wasn't in a reality tv segment that I shook my head and said, "that's the last time I'll be back here!" I'm new to Baltimore, but I can't imagine the Parkville Home Depot store being this bad.
If you are reading this and you are the manager of the Home Depot store in Reisterstown, my heart goes out to you. I'm not sure how you fix that customer...
Read moreAs good as Home Depot gets. The store itself is great and the shopping experience inside is excellent. Unfortunately, outside the store there are often a lot of people hanging around all day—sometimes drunk, high, or just loitering. It does put me on edge when walking in and out, and I can see how it could be a big deterrent for others.
It definitely makes the atmosphere uncomfortable, and I wish more could be done about it beyond simply having police or fully armed security present. That said, once you get past the day-laborers, the homeless, and the armed security, it really is a great place to shop.
Watch your back on the way out. Good idea to bring a friend with you incase of an altercation. Unfortunately the security guards and the police would prefer not to be bothered with non-gun related crimes. Stand tall and look confident. Stay safe and trust in God that he'll only do the best for you.
"The Lord's my Shepherd, I'll not want He makes me lie in pastures green He leads me by the still, still waters His goodness restores my soul And I will trust in You alone And I will trust in You alone For Your endless mercy follows me Your goodness will lead me home He guides my ways in righteousness And He anoints my head with oil And my cup, it overflows with joy I feast on His pure delights And I will trust in You alone And I will trust in You alone For Your endless mercy follows me Your goodness will lead me home And though I walk the darkest path I will not fear the evil one For You are with me, and Your rod and staff Are the comfort I need to know And I will trust in You alone And I will trust in You alone For Your endless mercy follows me Your goodness will lead me home (and I will trust) And I will trust in You alone And I will trust in You alone For Your endless mercy follows me Your goodness will lead me home (for Your endless mercy) For Your endless mercy follows me Your goodness will lead me...
Read moreI have placed two orders online at this store and the store overall is terrible, pour costumer services, lack of information in their inventory system, unreliable attendant, my first order shows up plenty inventory online and when we were picking up they have no stock to fulfill my order, but since this is store is close to my job a few days later I decided to place a second order, and guess what no stock again and the only qty shows 35 units, but that issue didn’t end there, the clerk told my driver that my order was cancelled and since was online she couldn’t print a receipt for the refund that I was supposed to get an email showing the cancellation and refund and guess what instead I got a pick up confirmation and a charge for my order, so I had to call a costumer services and since my order was online and shows that it was picked up I had to go to the store in person and make a dispute. So I have to send my driver back to the store and my on the phone since I’m the owner of the credit card used for the purchase and they still were saying the my guy picked the order up and took that away and refusing to give me my money back, so they said that need to review with the lumber area to see if that item I ordered was actually not in stock and they also have to review the cameras to see if we didn’t take the item out, only then and after 45 minutes my driver in the store expending gasoline to go back to he store and me on the phone wasting my time we had the issue resolved, but we didn’t get any apology for the mistake, I had to spent money in gas to drive back, pay my driver to be there to get my money back from this store.
Please tell me if this is the right way to treat a x-pro costumer that has spent thousands of dollars in...
