I went in today with my mom who was visiting me. I was excited to show her a store I enjoy visiting. We were in a hurry but she found something and we went to the cash register. There was no one up front so we rang the bell that was set up there one time and waited patiently. When the woman started walking towards the cash register we both smiled at her. She seemed annoyed to have to leave whatever she was doing before. On her way to the cash register she let the gate slam behind her. She looked at my (middle aged) mom and said “are you a senior?” in a super snarky voice. This worker was clearly annoyed to have been interrupted in her previous task and said this to purposely upset my mom by weaponizing the societal beauty standard around aging just because my mom has grey hair. My mom is very clearly a middle aged woman in her early 40s who happens to have grown out her natural grey hair. It is OKAY to be a senior. What is not okay is to ask a middle aged woman who is clearly not 65+ if she is a senior. You would never ask a 75 year old man with white hair and a cane if he was a senior, you would simply know to put a discount. If you’re not sure - DON’T ASK because you bear the risk of hurting someone’s feelings. Not to mention a customer who believes the item should recieve a discount WILL let you know. Don’t weaponize age- we will all get there one point if we are blessed. That’s all. I have had good experiences with other workers here so this was a...
Read moreI shopped here for years, but the pricing is ridiculous, the parking lot is a safety hazard, and there are not enough cashiers.
I will no longer be donating to Salvation Army. It is NOT a thrift store. Items are priced REGULARLY at or ABOVE retail prices. I would only purchase on sale days, but no longer wish to support this company. Why would I buy worn out clothes here when I can go to Marshals or TJ Maxx and get nicer things for similar prices? This is an insult to the intelligence of your customer base.
There are smaller thrift stores that do not have manipulative pricing practices and don't put anything of the slightest of interest directly on eBay so that there is nothing worth coming into the store for. If you want to be charitable give items to people directly in your community not large...
Read moreWhoever does the pricing at this place needs to be fired ! I don't think they actually can call themselves a thrift store anymore with the ridiculous prices they put on everything! They are 10 times more expensive then goodwill and even for the real crappy stuff they want top dollar ! If it's new watch out cause that price will be about as much as it would cost in retail setting! I mean come on you get this stuff for FREE and you gotta get as much as possible from it and screw the people that actually come there to get something cheap cause that no longer exists at this place and the workers are rude except for a couple of them . I no longer am gonna waste a dollar at this place and I will start donating to goodwill cause they seem to know what the word THRIFT in...
