Malfunction Junction — Local services in Barboursville

Based on my experience I would avoid Cell-Tech Express and go to Malfunction Junction I had an iPad air that would not charge.

I called both places and they both said it most likely needs the charging port replaced and quoted the same price of 100 (and both offered when asked 10% off for Veterans)

I was doing some errands and was close to Cell-Tech Express so I decided to go there. They took my device and charged me $42.80 as a diagnostic fee (which I did not know about)

Later that day they called and said that it was not just the port and that it probably also has a PCMI issue as well which would be $300. That would not be worth it.

So I was out $42.80

I then decided to run it Malfunction Junction to see what they said. They said they only charge you if they can fix it and they guarantee their work. They replaced the charging port for $90 and it has been charging great. They said if it stops working they will refund my money.

I’ve used these guys many times and they never disappoint. I recently brought in my son’s gaming computer that would crash on certain games. I know a little bit about computers, so I tried to troubleshoot myself. I brought it in, because what I thought was the problem, was not something I was willing to try. It turns out that it didn’t fix the problem. They continued to tro ubleshoot and eventually discovered it was the power supply.
