Your one stop shop for being treated disrespectfully and shamed. We all hit rock bottom and may need a loan and pawn things from time to time. So who wants to be kicked when your already down. Things are on the upswing for me I got a new job and am strapped for cash till I get paid. It's Tuesday and I need money for gas to get to and from work and continue my schedule or else I'll be sleeping where I work until sunday. I step in to see a gigantic line not a big deal for me I've got time to spare. So I wait about 10 mins in line.. not bad! I get to the counter and am going to pawn my silver chain. I know I'm not going to get no where near what I paid for it but hey I just need gas money and I'll be back to pick up my sentimental jewelry. Well here comes the bad news I'm explained that I'll be givin 7$ for my chain after a little consideration i decided the 7$ will at least get me home and I can make more moves to make some cash to get by... What I didn't need to hear was the woman who was helping me tell me my jewelrys trash and isn't worth there time as they'd just melt it down for scrap she said they'd mark it for sale in store for 25$ she also had the desire to expalin that most of there merchandise is gold and diamounds and that's were the money's at as if I was born yesterday. So after hearing all her shenanigans I still decide to conduct business I'm down and out with not too many options. So after being disrespected out loud and hearing the employees talk about what kind of liquor they want to go half on I'm told they can't accept my item because there networks down. Uh oh should of used some of that money for gold on a IT instead. So now I'm in a real pickle and need to make a move fast I ask to get my chain back and am informed that the only other pawn shop in town is infact owned by ez pawn. The woman there basically rushed me out saying too bad so sad go to Austin. Well here's where it gets interesting I go to the other pawn shop to check and see myself if there computers were down and to my surprise there working just fine and I am givin 15$ for my chain WOW! And all in 10 mins! I then discover it's close to ez pawns closing time so putting 2 and 2 together I figured out the employees from ez pawn just wanted to go home and get there booze. I typically don't post too many reviews but I had to speak up on this one no one wants to hear how there jewelrys trash and scrap then get turned down because of something on there end then assume that there entire network is down and boot you out the store. A simple phone call to there other store branch and I would of been set up but it's close to closing so I'm just pushed aside and treated like dummy and to think if I would of listend to that woman I would of made a inconvenienceing trip to Austin. So people in Bastrop and surrounding area don't waste your time at this pawn shop if your selling something. There merchandise is good but there attitude and work ethic is lazy and sloppy as a customer I expect to be welcomed and helped...
Read moreIt all depends on who you're dealing with at the counter. I've always been a loyal customer for over 4 yrs. And most of the times I've gone to get a loan on stuff, they've been courteous, fair and honest.
But recently I felt almost swindled....
I took some 1oz 99%pure silver coins to get a loan on and they told me they don't go by ounces they go by "grams". That was fine enough. So silver "spot price" (meaning the BASE "market" price WITHOUT fees, collectors value or profit markups) according to the NASDAQ was trading at $15 an ounce and 49cents a gram. So if we went by grams instead of ounces, at approximately 28.34 grams in every 1oz, according to the grams to ounces conversion, that would have STILL been at VERY LEAST $13.00 to $14.00 a coin. That's BASE SPOT PRICE!! The lady at the counter wanted to loan me only $2.00 to $3.00 a coin?!?!? I grabbed my coins and said NO way. So I took my business elsewhere & got my short-term loan at another store (paid it off on time WITH interest, mind you!)
Don't know if I'll go back now. They don't always know the correct value of things. And when they don't get it right there's NO debating or reasoning with them on it.
So it really does depend on who you're...
Read moreI got a loan on a PlayStation 4 and when I paid it off and took it home, the disc drive failed to work anymore, and when you set it up on end, you could hear a piece rattling around inside the PS4. It was clear this unit was dropped also due to the stack of electronics they had on their secure form trash can. I noticed when I picked up my PS4, that there were a couple of laptops, an Xbox and several other electronics haphazardly stacked on that trashcan. About 6 months later my wife took her Apple Watch in for a short loan and once picking it up found that the watch would no longer power on. After taking it into the Apple Store hoping it was a software issue, they determined that there was damage to the hardware. Needless to say, this equipment worked flawlessly when being dropped off and had catastrophic failure once picked up. I'm fully aware that pawn shops assume no liability for items damaged while in their possession, but I've had to utilize pawn shops over the last ten years, even other ezpawn locations, and have never once had my merchandise damaged when in the possession...
