WORST PREPARED MEAL DELIVERY EXPERIENCE - EVER. I have tried a lot of prepared-meal delivery services in Washington DC. All with mixed results. But Factor_ has been our worst experience. I got an offer to try and was very hopeful. First sign of issues came when I tried to search for Gluten Free options. There is no filter and no detailed ingredients to decipher which meals, if any, are gluten free. After much searching, the fine print basically says: "Meals MIGHT be gluten free, but we use cross-contamination kitchens and outsourced ingredients and can't guarantee anything." So, NOTHING is actually rated as Gluten Free. On the day of delivery, I received an email that my order had been delivered, click here to see status... that took me eventually to an app/website called Jitsu... which showed a picture of a Factor Box at a tight-shot angle... label not visible, address not visible, no surroundings. A delivery map on the site (seemed like a plus) showed a delivery location at a different street (major not-plus). The box never came. Went to neighboring buildings and found nothing. Tried to use chat with Factor_ ... nothing but a bot until over an hour later (keep asking for a human). BUT, then was told to call their customer service, the chat person could not help. Called and after 30 minutes on hold, the Factor rep said they were sorry, it happens all the time (they actually said that). They could not locate or confirm the delivery, they could not contact the courier. They could not even send a new replacement order. In the end, they could not really do anything about that missing order. They could only refund for this delivery and then asked if I wanted to deactivate my account - informing me that if I did any future discounts would be cancelled. The service pricing is based on discounts so if you ARE using Factor and you are paying full price, you are paying way too much. What a total fail. Factor is aspiring to be a meal DELIVERY company. Reliable DELIVERY is at least half the product. The meal quality does not come close to fresh-cooked meals from a local restaurant, so if Factor can't even delivery reliably, what is their value? And if that is not bad enough, when I logged in today to cancel the account, they had reset my next delivery so that today was my last day to cancel. Luckily, I caught it and cancelled my account - which by the way you can only do from the phone app. On the web, you can only deactivate deliveries - your account stays dormant. Bad business model. Terrible execution. Bad policies and unbelievably tone deaf to customer concerns. Would...
Read moreOkay, so we order factor I would give it a 4 star but there are a lot of execution failures that you the consumer need to be aware of. Let us get to it! Pros: • Food is sealed REALLY WELL! • Food looks good • Each dish cooks within 2-3 minutes in a 1000-WATT microwave • You must like Cheese, Cream, Dairy, and Pork Cons • You must like Cheese, Cream, Dairy, and Pork • The website does not let you pick your meals (could have been a glitch) • KETO meals are covered in butter, cream, cheese, and or oil. • THERE IS NO TASTE, but it smells great. First, the Keto plan is saturated in butter and vegetable oil. This is a basic fail because even with salt and added seasoning the oils pull or separate any seasoning from the food removing the taste. The good news is that microwaving oil and butter basically fries the food to the temperature of the sun. So have confidence that you cooked any bad bacteria to oblivion. Next, the type of food. This may be a glitch on the website. Factor sells Pandora's boxes of meals – in other words: life is like factor meals; you never know what you’re going to get. The factor does not let you know what type of food you’re getting, because my wife and I were unable to pick out the food. This resulted in Factor sending us a “smothered Pork dish” (that immediately went into the trash). If you’re lactose intolerant or have any food allergies here is a warning: everything is covered in oil, cheese, and cream; oil, cheese, and butter; or oil, cheese, cream, and butter. I understand the Keto philosophy, but it would be better if the butter, cheese, cream, and oils were placed on the side like condiments so customers can customize their Pandora's box of meals. This would also help if the food needed seasoning, which it does, and allow the customer to enjoy all the meals. Finally, let us end with some good notes. The food is shipped to your door at a refrigerated temperature and is ready to eat with a 2–3-minute nuke in the microwave. The food smells great and it is sealed with the confidence that no child will ever open it with their bare hands. The price is upper average in comparison to most services. Finally, the food itself is thoroughly cooked. If they don’t change anything be prepared to pull out your salt, pepper, and spices. ...
Read moreI've had Factor 75's service for two weeks now and I'm super happy with it. Meals of note were Chorizo Burger, Carnitas Style Pork, and Keto Poblano Bowl -- I still have more to try! I especially LOVE that they're made from all organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised, non-GMO ingredients and that the macronutrients are perfectly balanced to meet my needs. I've also looked at other services where the meals arrive frozen, or where they're "kits" with ingredients pre-chopped and which you still have to cook yourself. With frozen meals, you never know how long they've been frozen, plus thawing or reheating creates more uncertainty in the final texture from fresh. And with meal kits, why is that even a thing? You still have to cook so the cost just reflects the time saved not shopping or chopping? Or maybe you do still have to chop the ingredients that would oxidize if delivered pre-chopped? While it's true that a pre-made fresh meal, shipped from afar then reheated in a microwave or oven will never be as good as a meal made fresh by yourself or a chef on the spot, F75 meals definitely retain their juiciness and texture better than any other pre-frozen meal I've had. The seasoning is also spot on and subtly delicious. For super fresh I just throw a pile of fresh greens on the side and have a fresh fruit for dessert. I personally like to cook so I cook at the weekends and use Factor 75 during the workweek. My sister however hates to cook but she has health issues now, needs to stop snacking and follow a careful, unprocessed diet. So as I tell her, to stay on plan you're either going to have to cook, or get someone to cook for you. Factor 75 is now her affordable personal chef! F75 is a fantastic, affordable option for busy people who want good food, made from quality ingredients and devised around particular macros or dietary profiles....
