I went to Gammon Coach House with a friend and her daughter. Was utterly disgusted with the way we were ignored by the server during our visit. We had to sit and watch everyone else around us being served. She never introduced herself, never took our order, and never brought our drinks. Luckily the bartender stepped up and took care of us. He was absolutely amazing and seemed a bit embarrassed by the unprofessionalism of his colleague. The server even brought our food to another table and when they said it wasn't theirs, she began to return the food to the kitchen instead of just turning it around and bringing it to our table. Again the bartender had to stop her and take the food from her and deliver it to our table. He also had to be the one to bring us our check. The only time the waitress spoke to us was to take payment as we were leaving.
It is 2019 and a shame that a server with such obvious contempt would still be employed at a family restaurant. Despite the good graces of the bartender, I will never go back to this...
Read moreThe food is good but they have a limited menu which is fine due to the kitchen size and that is understandable - meaning that they should be able to produce their normal food well - and it is decent, but the menu is very basic for the boring, albeit standard, menu items in my opinion. They do have different specials to vary up the mundane menu somewhat and those have been good.
The restaurant is small and very cramped at the entrance and throughout. They offer a small outside seating under an awning. That being said it is a restaurant that has been around for a long time and has an old tavern feel except it feels dark and old and cramped. Large parties beware of wait times to get seated during dinner service.
I wouldn't go back if it was my choice because there are better options around the area, but I have no problem going for a work lunch or if others invite me to go.
I do not drink but they seem to have a variety of craft beers on tap as that is the first thing you see...
Read moreWords can not explain the disappointment and the picture is so sad I could not post it. I tried their fish tacos last year at one of our carnivals and they were great. They were better than at some mexican restaurants. It was a real nice treat and they changed my mind after a bad breakfast experience I had the previous year. I love supporting Batavia restaurants so I thought great they worked out their kinks. So after a long day I thought let's go for those fish tacos, big mistake 2 orders with a cup of soup, $31, questionable but thank God I ordered it because my tacos consisted of a sliver of fish on a corn tortilla and nothing else. They give you a to go small container of pico barely enough to cover the sliver. Further more diced tomato does not make pico de Gallo. So for I now you can see why I'm beyond disappointed and sorry to say will not be returning or telling our clients...
