I Entered the thrift store and immediately asked why is an ozone machine being used while there’s customers in the store. They said that this has been their practice for the past four years. They would have to ask to turn it off because they are run by a non-profit board. I said no you either turn it off or I call the fire department as this machine takes much needed oxygen out of the air? The ozone count in the air were much higher than what was allowed by industry standards and it has resulted in a trip to the doctor for me. Anyone can Google search to see the recommendations and these machine’s come warning labels and alerts not to have humans or pets in the area while running an ozone machine. You should not have people in the area for several hours after this machine has been off as well. I find it impossible that they were oblivious or innocent to knowing these warnings and knowingly caused to shoppers, who did not know why they ended up with headaches, sore throats, and other health issues while visiting their store . I hope the fire department checks to make sure that they are not using this equipment Incorrectly against warning, labels that hurt the health of it customer. The employees and volunteers that work here do not take short-cuts. Clothing that is donated to this store is carefully checked through —twice, before hung— for stains and wear. All items are cleaned and tested before getting out on the shelves.
The prices are extremely reasonable. Frequent discounts and sales. (including Amy’s delicious baked goods!)* Shelves are neatly categorized. Cheerful folks are willing & ready to assist.
