To be honest, you might want to test the fabrics for the wear and tear of the quality. If you have a quilt that is quilt shop quality, I would suggest a good quilt back for that quilt. The fabrics from this place are good in price but quality is not quilt shop quality. I would only use it for donation quilts where they are quickly made and given away for free. See photo of binding after ONE wash. Starting to pill and losing color. Enjoy shopping with a purpose π

Good to be back here again so I can get more 108 backings, this time a set of like fabrics in multi colors. Nice to have a variety so I can make more donation quilts.

I had to ask questions about their inventory. We DO NOT have to be a wholesaler to buy bolts and the price is amazing! I got 15 yards (bolt)of 108 inch backing fabric for $78 bucks ($5.25 a yard compared to average $17 a yard!). They have all sorts of fabrics, sets at good price and very few notions. If you plan to make charity quilts and need backing at low price, this is the place!
I asked about the quality of fabrics between the quality of JoAnne fabrics to quilt shops. He rated it closer towards quilt shop quality so here you go!
Also I had the pleasure of meeting the designer of selected fabrics named Marshall! This place established since 1944 and I doubt...

Drove 2 1/2 hours with a friend today to visit MDG for the first time and was not disappointed. If you quilt, sew, craft, plan to reupholster any of your furniture, make curtains, or heck, if you've ever worn clothes made from fabric, you need to take a road trip to MDG. I think they truly stock every fabric known to man, from Riley Blake to Freespirit to Benartex to Westminster to Liberty (!!!) as well as others, and they carry thousands of bolts of their own MDG brand fabrics-- all at incredibly low prices. Solids (recommend MDG Dream Cotton, it's the exact same as Kona Bella), patriotic, Xmas, holiday, reproduction fabrics, batiks to-die-for, novelty prints, flannel, minky, blenders, marbles, 108" wide backing, batting, ribbons, elastic, I could go on for days (I could shop their for days!) they carry it all. If you quilt, you're going to feel like you've died and gone to quilters heaven the second you step thru their unassuming from door. Fabrics The are available at wholesale and retail price (most retail prices were 3.99-4.99/yd, even the designer fabrics listed above!) staff are all super friendly and helpful, Tammy was wonderful and gave us a first-class tour of the warehouse. I can't...
Β Β Β Read moreThe Marshall Dry Goods web site is totally awesome! I have purchased on line and in person and all my experiences are wonderful. -- I have been sewing since I was four years old and have been purchasing my own fabrics and making my own patterns since my early teens. I have never been to such a fabulous place! The selection is unlimited, the options and prices are great, and the staff are fabulous. Every single question I have ever had has been answered with kindness, courtesy, and best of all -- helpful results!! Here's the thing, other fabric stores will sell exactly what is asked for. For example, if I request one yard from Joann's, I receive exactly 36 inches of fabric. The problem, of course, is that once the fabric is pre-washed, I am short. Marshall Dry Goods sells generously!! If I ask for a yard, I always receive extra. It is just one more reason that I will never purchase fabric anywhere else. Though the website is the best I have ever seen, If at all possible, go to the shop in person. When you go, bring a list and allow yourself lots and lots of time because I promise you won't...
