Fox Creek BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in Batesville

By far the worst food and service Ive had in a long time. We walked into an empty restaurant, on the wrong side of town. Should have been a sign, but we were greeted quickly and sat. However, before we were even sitting, the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked if the had draft beer, and she said no, i asked what bottles they had and she gestured towards a cooler, that i could not see from our table. After we ordered, she came back to ask if our daughter wanted anything. Umm, yeah. They didnt have milk so we got her a pineapple juice. Came in a stryrofoam cup with a lid, no straw. I had to leave the table and ask for one. We sat in the silent dining room and drank our lukewarm beers, and waited for our food. It came after a short wait, and we almost didnt eat it, just from its appearance. We actually couldn't eat it, because they didnt bring us silverware. I had to call out twice to interrupt our server to get her to bring us silverware. Wife got a pick two platter, brisket, chicken, with a side salad and grilled veggies. The side salad never came, the grilled veggies were in fact grilled, but were just frozen veggies. The chicken was sliced super thin, lukewarm, and dry. The brisket wasnt dry, in fact, was overcooked and waterlogged, like it was stored in a liquid. Could have been squirrel strips for all we knew. The menu listed texas toast as part of the plate, which I guess in Arkansas means dry white toast. My nachos were absolutely no better. 4 layers of stale chips with decent pulled pork on top, and canned nacho cheese. then a huge pile of sliced iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. We asked for the jalapenos on the side, and they did come that way. The first 6 bites i took were either cold cheese and lettuce, or stale chip with nothing, or stale chip with dry pork. I actually love can nacho cheese, but not cold gloops of it. We ate our food quickly and asked for the check, and after hastily leaving our card, realized that we had been charged extra for jalapenos, even though they are listed as part if the dish. Its too bad everything was terrible, because the place was super cute, lots of exposed old beams and brick, barnwood walls, and a nice looking stage.

On a side note, in the bathroom is a cleaning log, that hasnt been filled out since September, and even before then, pretty...

Food's great. Once you finally receive it... correctly. Brought my mother and my son for lunch, for their first, and last, visit. The girls waiting tables were sweet... when you could get their attention. We weren't sure whether to seat ourselves, or wait to be seated... This wasn't obvious and it took several moments for someone to acknowledge our arrival and tell us to seat ourselves. Took nearly 15 minutes for someone to come take our food and drink order. Took over half an hour to receive our yummy pork stuffed potatoes. My son ran out of tea 15 minutes before he ran out of food, not that anyone ever came and checked on us again. He tried to get the attention of a waitress... to no avail. Once we were all done, I tried to get someone's attention so we could have the check... When I got tired of being ignored I finally resorted to waving my heads back and forth over my head for a few minutes until someone noticed. When I asked for the check THEN she finally offered us refills... Too little too late... Sad, because the food is great, but thanks to the no service, my family refuses...

This was our first time there. I gave 5 stars anyway because the issue I had was made right plus more than i couldhave asked for. The taste of the food was PHENOMENAL, unfortunately, due to our server, it was a little on the cold side and had to remind her for our dressing and fries and she never asked to refill our drinks. BUT, it was made right by a couple other workers. They ended up going ABOVE & BEYOND by giving me a discount, a to go drink and 3 cheesecake cupcakes!! Which was so amazing!! I didn't want any kind of compensation I just wanted to thank the server who told her she needed to run our food out before it got cold. Then our server didn't even remember where it went. Inhave been a server for 25 years so I know what it's like but ours was not a good one. There's a little more details to it but I've rambled enough lol. We WILL be back!! Oh and the...
