I went to Blush Bridal salon to get my wedding dress in January of this year. I am a plus sized bride, and I selected this salon specifically because they market themselves as being inclusive and because a close friend of mine had recommended them to me. Camila was my stylist and did an excellent job of making me comfortable and listening to exactly what kind of look I was going for. And she definitely delivered. She was amazing to work with, and we even had a great follow up conversation later discussing how I wanted to style the dress (she even went as far to send me pictures of the dress styled in the way I was envisioning to confirm I liked it, so she really went above and beyond. If I went back, I would absolutely ask for her again.) The salon was clean and professional, and overall I had a really positive experience.
With all that said, I do have a couple minor complaints/ suggestions for improvement: First, I wouldâve appreciated a little bit more transparency on the pricing of the dresses. I think we all got a bit excited, so we were at the âis this THE dress?â question before I was informed the dress was ~$300 over my budget before taxes. So I had to âpauseâ the big moment to ask for the price before ultimately opting to go with it anyway. I donât think this was entirely Camilaâs fault, as there was a good bit of hustle and bustle with my group, but I know that moment couldâve gone really differently for another bride, so I wanted to mention it. My other note is for the salon itself and has nothing to do with the stylist. I would NOT consider this salon plus-size friendly if you are looking for a fitted gown. I am a street size 18 in pants (usually a 16-18 in dresses) and could BARELY get most of the dresses I tried onto my body. (The dress I ultimately bought didnât even fit over my hips). They simply do not stock very many fitted dresses in larger sample sizes. Camila did a great job basically rigging and paper-dolling the dress onto me so I could get an idea of the look, but the issue really lies in the lack of samples in those sizes. If youâre going for an A-line or ballgown, I think youâll be fine. Additionally, fair warning: they do charge a âfat taxâ for some designers. (Basically a small up-charge if you order a dress over a certain size). I know this is typically charged at the designer level, not at the shop level; however, considering the shop offers other discounts and such, I donât think it would be unreasonable for them to consider absorbing this (rather minuscule) cost in the name of actually being more plus-size friendly, as they market themselves. I think this is an issue with the bridal industry in general though, not just Blush. Iâd just love to see them grow and do even better.
Again, I really want to emphasize that my experience was generally very positive, and I did of course end up purchasing a dress from Blush and would recommend them to most other brides, but those are the things that have sat with me over the past few months as the slight dampers on my day....

Read moreAfter visiting a couple bridal shops and not having that WOW moment with a dress, Blush was recommended because they also carry plus size gowns for voluptuous brides like me. Thankfully, they were able to fit me in at the last minute on Saturday. Elle greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and immediately made us feel at home. She was so lovely and attentive and walked with me to pick out gowns based on my vision. It was in that first round of dresses she picked that I found THE dress. It is the most stunning thing Iâve ever worn, and honestly, I never wanted to take it off. Because my wedding is less than six months away, it wouldnât arrive on time if we ordered it in my size. Elle offered a solution which was to buy the dress I was wearing off the rack and have it altered. Buying it outright meant I would need to pay the entire amount up front, but it was over my budget by $300. To my surprise, my bridesmaids united to cover the overage so I could walk away with my dream dress. It makes me emotional just thinking about it! Not to mention the ladies at Blush put together a gift bag for me, and I got to sign my name on their display wedding dress next to the other brides who had purchased dresses from Blush. Such a neat tradition! Overall a wonderful experience. If the booking fee is putting you off from scheduling here, donât let it. These ladies know what theyâre doing and have something for everyone. Thanks...
