Place an order online last night for pick up today. I was short on time and didn’t want to have to go into the store and search for the item. Despite receiving a confirmation email that it was ready the order was nowhere to be found in the pick up area. The associate finally brought it up. Apparently, he got sidetracked and he laid it down while on his way the front of the store. Totally earl understandable.
I get home and realize the plastic file box is damaged. The one corner was completely broken all the way through the top. This meant I needed to go back to the store on a day I was already pressed for time.
The associate at the checkout had no idea how to complete the return. It took two other associates to help her. She finally processes the return, and another associate tries to locate another file box. Eventually, I got tired of waiting for him and tried looking for myself. He had no idea where it would be and neither did I which is why I ordered it online for pick up.
I spent over 15 minutes in the store just trying to exchange an obviously broken item I was given. Eventually I gave up and came home to order off of Amazon. I was purposely trying to support the brick and mortar Office Depot but I can’t justify wasting two trips and 20 minutes of my time today just to help them out when they obviously can’t help themselves out. Lesson learned. I will not continue to inconvenience myself to support a business that has no respect...
Read moreTried two times in 5 days to ship a package via FedEx. The first time we walked up to shipping desk with the package and were told that “corporate wide” the password had been changed for FedEx shipping and “nobody knows” what it is now. We returned 5 days later with the same package, thinking surely the issue was resolved. We were second in line and one person working behind the counter. Customer ahead of us needed help with a FAX. We waited 10 minutes for the associate. In the meantime two managers came behind the counter but did not in any way acknowledge we were waiting. When the associate finally got to us we were again told they didn’t have the password to ship. This is an unacceptable way to run a store. Hard to believe the entire corporation and every Office Depot is unable to ship via FedEx because they don’t have the password. This is just disinterested management and poor customer service. I can now understand why this store rarely has cars in front of it. I don’t know how they stay in business operating like this. Will never return for any reason. Took our package down the...
Read moreOffice Depot's "same day" print services are NEVER same day or even the next day. Unfortunately I have tried ordering from this particular location a few times and every time they are OUT OF STOCK for my paper or sign needs, even though the online system shows as in stock. I ordered yard signs online yesterday which of course indicated "in stock" and would be ready for pick up today. Then I get an email this morning "Out of Stock", my order cancelled and that I need to call around to the other local locations to see who has it in stock. Really? Very poor customer service in my opinion. Would have been more acceptable if they found a location and contact me to ask if ok to transfer the order to that location. I understand that keeping stock is a big issue right now. But this has been a consistent problem. If you can't get your inventory and online ordering system to make sense, and you obviously KNOW THIS then you should have better systems in place to take care of the customer. or STOP advertising and promoting...
