Red Zeppelin Pizza — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

Great food(5 stars), good price but service on my last visit was horrible. If you get Mary as your server I hope you’re not having a bad day because she will make it worse. She was extremely inattentive and rude. If I go back I would definitely request to not have her as my server. The only thing she was concerned with the whole time I was there was twirling her hair and having personal conversations inside with another server. The person I was with ordered a water and she brought out a coke. I asked for lemons to go with my water and she had an attitude and brought me out one lemon when I specifically asked for 3-4 she brought out 2 more. I had to flag her down 3 times before she would recognize me after looking at me and turning her head. Then she finally came and brought us refills and I had to ask for lemons yet again. She never asked us how everything was if we needed anything or made any recommendations. I then had to stop her mid stride to let her know exactly how to split the bill because she literally walked to the table and took off. Part of the payment was in cash and she kept all of it as her tip which she was not told to do. When we left she was completely ghost so she couldn’t even attempt to tells us to have a nice, which I’m not convinced she would have done anyway. Red Zeppelin was everything I heard about! My wife and I went there on our Sunday tradition lunch date with some family of ours. It was our first time here, but our family members have been here a few times.

For our appetizer, I ordered the bone-in buffalo wings w ranch and Bleu cheese. The wings were solid. They could've been fried a little harder, but the flavor and juiciness of them were spot on.

Also, quick shoutout to our waitress Lauren. She's the definition of a true waitress. Every 5-10 mins, she was checking on us to see if we needed anything. Courteous, sweet, polite, and a cutie pie 😁. Great job, Lauren.

So, back to the food, lol. For our entrée we order a 16'in half & half pizza. My wife's half was a margarita pizza, and my half was custom-made. It was an alfredo/BBQ sauce base with Italian sausage, chicken, and bacon. I also topped it with roasted red peppers, jalapeños, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese.

My wife said here Margarita Pizza wasn't too flavorful. She said the pesto could've been a little better, but I felt sorry for her because my pizza was spot on! The flavor, crunch, and savoriness of that pizza was just what I was looking for, and OMG, the bacon was so crispy and complicated the pizza to perfection! Red Zeppelin, I'll be back...

It takes a lot for me to leave a review of fewer than three stars. Although the food has always been excellent, the service has been terrible for a long time. Today was the last straw. We attempted to call to pick up. The phone rang ten times and cut out. We decide to drive across town to order to go. While driving, we called again. This time after two rings, an employee picked and slammed the phone. When we finally arrived, there were a total of 3 tables, no guests inside, no guests in cars waiting, yet three servers inside complaining about being at work while playing on their phones. I watched as the phone rang and nobody paid any attention to it. A similar situation happened New Year's Eve when the employees vocally complained about having to be at work at 4 pm. Even with their shortened hours (7 pm), the manager was overheard telling the staff they wouldn't take anymore to go orders after 5 pm. I hope that this doesn't fall on deaf ears. I hope the owner sees this and all of the other reviews. The only complaint I ever see is about the service staff, and the name Taylor comes up the most often. I don't know if Taylor was involved in my experiences, but the attitude overall is terrible...
