Christian Street Furniture — Local services in Baton Rouge

The furniture we purchased from the store was very well made and a great product. That is the reason I gave them 3 stars - good products. But the customer service experience was terrible. I understand that COVID has impacted everything, but I ordered chairs in September, 2020, with the information that they might be delayed and take 8-10 weeks to arrive. I received them in February, 2021. I never, during the entire wait, received a call from the store updating me on the process. They said that the manufacturer was not updating them, but whenever I called, they were always able to contact the manufacturer and get information and the manufacturer always responded quickly to my emails. To add insult to injury, they actually delivered the wrong chairs at first and had to go back to get the correct one - a small mistake, I know, but after everything else, most disappointing. They had excuses for everything; but no valid reasons. If you don’t care about customer service, use them. If you do, there are other retailers in the area that carry the same products lines. ...

My wife and I have been looking for a sideboard (buffet) for the kitchen. We stopped by Christian Street Furniture to see what they have. Most of the furniture is well built and sturdy and they give you many options for the finish on the furniture. The staff was very friendly and attentive as they showed us around the store. We found a sideboard that we liked, but the color was not to our liking. The issue we have is, if they don't have the exact piece of furniture you want in the finish you want, it will take six months to have it built and shipped. AND, it's very pricey! We found solid wood pieces of comparable quality and style at another local furniture store for half the price and was delivered in two weeks! I should have known that Christian Street Furniture wasn't the place to shop because we were the only customers in the whole store. If you want to sell furniture, you need to have it in stock or at least in a warehouse nearby so you can move and deliver in a timely fashion. Who wants to wait 6 months for a piece...

If I could put 6 stars I would. “Experts” feels like the operative word to describe the pros at CSF. We couldn’t be happier with the customization options, clarity of process, and customer service. The couches we bought are beautiful and indestructible (we have 3 small kids), and the chairs are the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. They can get you literally any piece of furniture your mind can imagine. I asked for part of a desk— not the whole thing— just part, and they were able to contact the manufacturer and get that one piece for a great price. Thank you Christian Street Furniture! PS— you ever wonder if some negative reviews are just people expressing their discontent with their lives and taking it out on the last strangers they met??? That’s how I see some of them in this CSF Google...
