I took my girlfriend out to eat on a Saturday evening. Had no issue earlier in the week making a reservation for our one year anniversary (called in since the site said nothing was avail). We felt a little over dressed when we got there compared to the rest of the clientele (yes, I know, it is the south, shorts and sandals, but come on, give a little effort...). The establishment is really made up and felt comfortable.
It wasn't until we were seated; both of our menus had food on them and the back to my booth moved back and forth when I or the person on the other side sat back. The waitress was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed; especially after their whole order/credit card system took a dump. She had to go and explain in detail to each table and itemize what everyone had so the manager could tally everything up. It was a cluster and added a 20-30 minute wait to get out.
Before that tragedy occurred, we ordered our sodas and meal. No issues, other than not getting many refills on time. She ordered the red beans (no sausage, just chicken) and I the beef sirloin. When our plates came out, she took one bite and said it needed to go back. I tasted it, and it was if someone put an artificial plastic taste to the batch; even the chicken didn't taste right. I enjoyed my corn grits, but my sirloin was too pink, and the sauce didn't help. The waitress did her job, and asked if we could get something else, but we'd already decided to leave and she didn't charge for the red beans. Paid in cash (due to the system outage), and left.
Unfortunately, we will not be visiting this location again. The times I've been to the Lafayette location has...
Read moreOur server was awesome But Dear Zea Restaurant Management,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with our recent visit to your establishment on [Date]. Despite having a reservation, our family was not treated with the respect and care that we expected.
Upon arrival, we were informed that there would be a delay in seating. However, we observed that three parties of more than eight guests were seated before us, despite arriving after us. This already frustrating situation was compounded by the staff's uncaring attitude.
When I inquired about the delay, the staff was unapologetic and dismissive. Instead, they suggested that we dine at another restaurant, which we found unacceptable.
To make matters worse, when we were finally seated, it was in the bar area, which was not suitable for our family with young children. We had specifically requested a family-friendly table, but this was ignored.
The manager's indifferent attitude and lack of empathy were particularly distressing. Our children were visibly disappointed and saddened by the experience, which was supposed to be a special family outing.
The manager's response to our concerns was shocking, implying that we should be grateful for any seating arrangement. This lack of understanding and compassion for families with young children is alarming. My reservation was made for 1pm. They book me down for 140pm

Read moreWe had about 24 people in the party. Drinks came out sporadically. I ordered twice crispy duck and my wife ordered the southern fried fish w/ braised cabbage and she was suppose to get a side of red beans but when the entree made it to the table it had roasted potatoes. We had been there for a while so she didnt bother to get it changes out. The flavor was good with the duck but it was cold and my wife made it through most of the meal until she got to a piece of fish that was not cooked.(the fish isn't a fillet cut, it was more in pieces). My wifes grandfather ordered red beans and rice with fried chicken breast. His meat was undercooked as well. We called the manger to out table and we told her the situation with the food. She asked me would I like another plate fixed and my wife interrupted and said no and my wife's grandfather said sure. We get out tickets and multiple people had issues with how the tickets were split. So people had wrong items on there tickets. When the waiter handed back the ticket he said that the manager had given me a 10% discount which ended up being a military discount that equaled to $1.65 off my ticket. I called her back to the table and said I would do better just getting another plate because the discount didnt equal up to the plates amount. She then asked do you want me to just take it off and I said yes. Overall the experience was ok. If it wasn't for family and my phone my experience probably would have been a little worse. I will not be visiting in the...
