BEWARE – I Was Scammed Here. Don’t Make the Same Mistake.

I walked into this store expecting a friendly, authentic Polish deli experience. Instead, I walked out $118 poorer—with barely enough food to fill a small shopping bag.

Here’s what I got: • A small portion of beef jerky • Three small links of white sausage • One piece of liverwurst

In addition: • Four jars of pickles (which I’ve seen elsewhere for $3.79 each) • A tiny package of pierogi (10 dumplings)- honestly should never exceed $10. • One jar of hunters stew (couldn’t be more than $10)

That’s it. And it somehow added up to $118. Realistically, this should’ve cost around $50—max. To make matters worse, the owner took cash only and refused to give me a receipt. That’s a massive red flag.

I’ve been going to Polish delis my entire life and have never experienced anything like this. I gave the benefit of the doubt in the moment, thinking maybe I miscounted or forgot something, but when I got home and looked at what I actually received, it became clear: I was blatantly ripped off.

It’s disappointing, disheartening, and frankly, dishonest. Whether it was an overcharge or something more deliberate, I strongly recommend avoiding this place entirely.

Fair warning to others: • Ask for prices up front • Demand a receipt • And better yet, take your business to a more honest shop

After 43 years in the U.S., this was the first time I’ve been scammed like this—and I won’t let it happen again....

I absolutely advise everybody to stay AWAY from Warsaw Deli In Bayonne!!! The food tends to be PAST ITS DUE DATE, the cold cuts are dried up, and smelly. The prices are not good, either. And the service is definitely not your usual Polish hospitality!!! Better to drive to Greenpoint - for value and...
