Associates were very helpful and knowledgeable and helped me solve the problem I had (a lot better service than some unmentionable stores, ie:
Lowes-- (spent over an hour in store needing to get a 2x4, associates just walked by like I wasn't there, walked back to the front and stood right in front of a manager for at least 25-30 (of the hour i was there), was never acknowledged (he stood and talked with 2 other associates), finally just said "the hell with this place" and walked out. . Menards-- (spent at least 10 hours over 4 days in store with very very little associate interaction and no help) and last but not least.
Home Depot-- spent between 45 minutes to an hour in store needing to find out about saw blades, had them call over the intercom for help 3 different times, no one came, finally an associate came over to help another customer, stopped her when she got done and 3 minutes later I was...
Read moreI’ve only visited the “Elm Road-Warren” and “Route 5-Cortland” locations and can only recommend them if these stores are “convenient” and located “on your way” to another destination. I find the stores to be well stocked with quality hardware, but the employees to be extremely unknowledgeable on basic hardware products and generally disinterested in providing good customer service. This is disappointing because I do A LOT of hands on work projects and I need quality hardware from a good quality hardware store…and Handyman SO often...
Read moreA very nice small chain hardware and home supply/garden shop. Neat. Clean with great signage. Friendly and helpful staff. A pretty good selection of items. Multiple brands, sizes, prices. And the relatively small size, compared to the mega-DIY stores was welcoming. Wandering around these mega-stores to find one small item is just exhausting. I'll be using Handyman as my go to for day...
