I was very pleased with the service and loved the cut and color I received at Bangs Salon. My stylist was friendly and skilled, and the highlight service itself turned out beautifully. However, I do have concerns about the lack of transparency with pricing and booking details.
I booked two separate appointments online—one for a shampoo, cut, and style, and another for a full highlight. I paid a 50% deposit for each service at the time of booking. Under the description for the full highlight service, the wording suggested that a haircut was included, stating something to the effect of “no need to book a haircut if you’re getting this service.” Naturally, this led me to believe that a haircut was part of the highlight appointment.
When I arrived, my stylist did a quick consultation to discuss the length I wanted and the color of the highlights, but no pricing was mentioned. We started with a dry, rough cut that lasted less than a minute before beginning the highlight process. I was aware there would be an additional charge for the lightener and toner/gloss, but I was surprised to see an extra $55 charge for the dry cut—especially since it was so brief and not clearly presented as a separate, add-on service.
I emailed the salon owner to share my concerns and was told that all services are à la carte. While I understand that policy, I believe it should be clearly disclosed either during the online booking process or during the in-person consultation. I followed up with a second email seeking clarification and have not yet received a response.
Again, I am very happy with how my hair turned out, but I feel the salon could improve by being more upfront about pricing and ensuring the service descriptions are clear and accurate. Transparency is key to a great client experience, and unfortunately, that part...
Read moreThe customer service needs work. I was a first time customer and called to make an appointment. The website was down and I wasnt given directions or asked where they were located. I got lost upon arrival as the sign is marked for a complex near the main street, but later called and found out they are behind a hotel and this caused me to be late. I walked in and there were several ladies at the front desk and didnt get greeted with a "Hello, Welcome to Bangs Salon" and when I told the front desk my name and appointment time the stylist proceeded to tell me which chair to sit in without even introducing herself or a handshake to greet me. As a business owner it's customary to be professional and courteous especially to first time clients. This is why I gave a 3 star review, other than that the haircut was perfect and would give 5 star, but the staff needs to work on professionalism at...
Read moreUltimately, the most disappointing experience. I booked a free hand appointment, just be told an hour prior to my appointment that the stylist was double booked and would not be able to achieve the look I would like because there wasn’t enough time. The stylist charged me $200 without sympathy or a discount for the inconvenience. The highlights turned out too subtle and hardly noticeable. I asked for bangs, and when I straightened my hair I realized she made a big chop in the front of my hair. I’ve had bangs before, but they never looked like this. I have reached out to the stylist in hope to have my hair corrected, and I haven’t heard back. Charged me full price, threw some highlights here and there, gave me a really bad haircut, and didn’t follow up for correction. Bangs has officially lost me as a...
