Wayback Burgers — Restaurant in Beaufort

We absolutely love Wayback's food and generally do not have any issues with their service. Every person we've ever encountered inside that restaurant has been nothing but nice and polite. However, we ordered curbside pickup tonight, which we never do, so when we got there, I had to call at least a dozen times or more to finally get someone to answer so we could pickup our order. Yes, I could have gone in, but I specifically ordered curbside for a reason, not just to do it. The young man that initially answered the phone said that he was underage and could not deliver curbside after dark. So, my response was, I am looking at several people that look plenty over age to bring it out. Once a man finally brought our order to the car, I very politely let him know that we also had 2 drinks and told him what they were, his very rude response was, "well, it didn't say curbside and that's why nobody brought it out", and literally just walked away without another word. He left me and my son wondering whether he was going to bring our drinks back out. Finally, the young man that was "underage and couldn't deliver curbside after dark" brought our drinks and said that the previous man told him not to answer the phone. Like, really???? If you don't want to or can't do curbside, please don't offer it as an option during online ordering and definitely don't lie about "curbside" not being on the order. I very nicely showed the second man the printed receipt and the fact that it did say "Curbside Pickup" and if he would kindly tell the first man that it did. I can't get the picture of the receipt showing Curbside Pickup to upload, but I did take one. 😕😔 If I'm ever in a pinch where I absolutely NEED to order curbside again, I definitely don't think it will...

Just WOW! That’s what my family, friends and I were saying as we sank our teeth into our scrumptious cheeseburgers. Absolutely the BEST BURGER I’ve had while eating out in a very long time. Burgers were cooked to perfection - juicy mouth watering flavor. My Wife said her side of cheesy fries were also amazing. I got the Wayback Classic w/ Onion Rings instead of fries and both were delicious. The staff and owner were very kind and accommodating. The restaurant is also very family friendly, clean and overall comfortable. Rest rooms were clean and smelled nice.

Bonus: On a nice day, like when we came here, eat outside using their outdoor canopy tables. Delicious food, fresh air and shade from the sun. WIN / WIN!

Value: I paid $8.99 for my Wayback Classic meal and made it a combo w/ onion rings for an extra $5. The prices are extremely generous for the large portions of food received and for the exceptional quality. I’ve paid more at McDonalds for a 1/10th of the quality and enjoyment than what you’ll get at Wayback! Just comparing the two feels like a sin.

Verdict: HIGHLY Recommend to go here if it’s your first time, especially if you’re eating out with your family or have a group with you… AND ESPECIALLY go here if you’re craving the best cheeseburger your money can buy.. and that’s saying much considering the prices are soo generous! Will be bringing myself and my family...

My wife got harassed by a disgruntled employee at the front counter infront of my little daughter and a dining room full of families. The employee was face timing someone who had nothing to do with the business and was talking about hotel rooms and other stuff that was just highly inappropriate. Our order was sitting on the back kitchen counter for about 15 minutes and wasn't even complete.. when my wife asked about the order the woman became violent and started cursing at her and calling her derogatory names outloud and walked around on her phone still bullying her to whomever she was talking to.. what a trashy person and since my daughter is the 5th grade and exhibits more common sense and more sense able as a person- I assume this woman's education is below the 3rd grade.. this isn't prison rules, it's a burger chain that promotes family values and I think it would be best for her to either quit or get fired because I will not tolerate racism at the expense of sub par cold burgers and soggy fries.
