Katherine was our server and she was perfect!!! That needs to be said first because she was quite possibly the best part of the visit. We were visiting from out of town and don’t typically go to chain restaurants when in from out of town. Tonight was no different, we were actually headed to a local pizza restaurant but when we passed Outback we thought prime rib sounded good and we like it at Outback so it was a safe bet. When we got inside half of the restaurant was empty and we were greeted with an apology because there was a 20-25 minute wait, they had a party of 30 on the other side of the restaurant and they didn’t have enough servers. We weren’t in a hurry so we waited. We got seated in 15-20 minutes only to find out that they were out of prime rib, bone in ribeyes, and rice. No worries we’ll have the regular ribeye instead. It was not a good piece of meat, lots of gristle (not fat) and the food was slow to come out. They would’ve replaced it but it wasn’t really worth the wait again. I’m sure that the kitchen was behind because of the big party so they get a break for that and Katherine made sure we had drinks and that all was well until the meal did come out. We overheard another server telling their table that they were out of 6oz sirloins and kids sirloins too and when dessert time came around they were out of the chocolate tower cake. As always we realize that everybody has a bad night and we will def give Outback another chance because we do enjoy it, just very frustrating. All of that to say it could’ve been a miserable experience but Katherine was awesome and helped us make the best out of a what wasn’t the best experience, I hope Outback realizes what an...
Read moreI haven’t been to a Outback in 2-3 years and I I’ll honestly tell you this Outback will ensure I never go back. I walked in and there was no one at the host stand. I stood there for more than 5 mins before anyone acknowledged me. A server walked over and finally said “did you need something?” At this point I should have left. Then I decided to sit at the bar. I think shift change was happening. I tried to sit at the bar but it was so filthy. It hadn’t been wiped for a while. Food everywhere on it. I found a corner that looked ok and sat down. The bar tender coming on seemed confused and instead of greeting me argued with another employee. Then after I got a beer and a menu the staff that was off going (I think) sat in the bar and talked about the trashiest stuff ever. They were shouting to each other and laughing hysterically. I ordered my food. Salad was decent. Beer was good. Lines were clean and so was the glassware. The food came. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. I cut into it and I don’t think it was above 80 degrees. It was so rare. I put my silverware down and waited for the bartender to come back around. About 5 more minutes. She gasped when she saw it. She took it back and apologized. About 3 mins later someone else brought it back out and they had nuked it I guess. Was rubber. $30 for a terrible steak. What a joke. Normally a chain like this can at least cook a steak to temp enough to enjoy. My check was brought promptly and I paid cash and left. They comped a beer of mine I guess to apologize but I paid $30 for a steak that was something I could get a dennys for $12. I’ve never had a dining experience this bad. I will never return to...
Read moreFirst, let me cover the positive. My server “John” was exceptional and the reason my rating is two stars instead of one. I know ordering steak at a restaurant is always a gamble as far as how done it will be when served. Therefore, even though medium rare is my choice, I pick medium with the expectation that the kitchen may be in a hurry. This way if it is over or under cooked I will get my steak somewhere close. What is never acceptable is to order medium and get well plus. My steak was as dry as the desert. To his credit, John offered to have it recooked, however, I specifically went at the slow part of the day a little after 3 pm. Yet, my steak still took 30 minutes plus. I didn’t want to wait that long or longer since the restaurant was now getting busier. Additionally, I ordered the mac’n’cheese as a side. When my food came John had to inform me that the kitchen of was out of this item and I needed to make an alternative choice. This again is a hit on the kitchen staff. No waiter/waitress is going to let a customer pick an item unavailable and wait till their order is ready to inform them their sides aren’t available. Finally, I ordered a bloomin’ onion as my appetizer. This came half raw and half burnt. The oil was obviously set to high. Bottom layer was way over cooked and the upper and inside was raw. Pulling off upper pieces revealed onion that was still raw and batter which was still mushy and not cooked. For a 50.00 dollar meal for one person, I expect better. Anyone would. Thank you John for a great effort. But, forget this restaurant if you expect quality and value...
