Belk — Local services in Beaufort

I like Belk on general but I get very frustrated st our local store. The clothing is rammed together on all types of different racks and God forbid they have one of their really good sales because people treat the clothes horribly and they are thrown all over the racks as well as the floor. I have a difficult time getting around in this store location because I use a walker and I often cannot get between racks of clothing. It is the same in their housewares department as often I find myself backing diwn an aisle because there is no room for me to make a turn or to proceed forward. I enjoy shopping at other locations because I find the selection here lacking. The jewelry section here is terribly lacking. Some of their items I know I have seen for a couple of years and yet new things are very limited. The same holds true for plus size clothing in that the sees tgst never go out if styleslection is jammed into one area and it out and out sucks. I find tops that are made from what I consider sleazy fabric that I would be afraid to wash for fear of would fall apart. I like great looking classic separates that never go out of style. I find that either these sizes are just plain ugly or they look like only old ladies would wear them. I found a much better selection in stores in Savannah, Charleston and Hilton Head. I would rather they carry fewer items but better quality ones. It seems they try to cram too many articles of clothing in too small a location. One of my biggest complaints is that whieverr does the buying for this department has no taste and it appears that there is definitely some discrimination when it comes to plus size women's clothing in that I see pretty colours and prints, etc in other departments and when do get to my sizes it appears drab and blah. And one thing for sure - it us nigh on to impossible to find a store employee. One particular day another lady and myself wandered up and down the aisle that runs from infants/toddlers to luggage/lingerie where there are a couple of "Customer Service" locations, meaning cash registers, and there was not a soul to be found. I was trying to purchase a steamer from housewares and she had clothing in her hand. She finally walked off. I stood by the cash register by luggage and eventually saw a man walking by playing on his phone but coming from the the eralvicinity of the store offices. I called out "do you work here?" and he said yes he did to which I replied "glad to know someone does " which he Didn't seem to appreciate. But like I told him, it is pretty bad when you have to hunt down someone to take your money. I finished my our purchase and as I walked out I found the lady who had stood with me for some time. She had finally found a lady at a register closer to frtont suske of the store. I told the young lady it was a shame to have to hunt down folks to take your money. She says oh it is because someone had not come in. I quickly told her the entire store should not revolve around 1 clerk not showing up to work. If they were that short handed tgen that's when management jumps in and does what it takes to efficiently operate. Sorry to say that is still a huge problem. Let me first start with I NEVER write reviews... Not if it’s great experience or bad, but I can’t stop myself on this one.

Went here to get a suit for my fiancé for our wedding. Decent options fairly good deals and then the sale consultant comes of to ask if we need anything. We tell him and immediately he is so pushy. Honestly he could be a great car sales man because you couldn’t get a word in. By the end of it he twisted our brains so much we end up applying for a credit card to get all the “deals” he was throwing at us. Which by the end of it we saved a decent amount but not enough to deal with this guy. We end up having to order the pants because he didn’t have the size which was fine but he gave us no info on when the pant would come in after asking him multiple times. He was extremely great and redirecting the conversation to make his sale. He also told us that they ship the pants to the store where would pay then and still get the discount he was offering that day. When we asked what if you’re not working to give us the discount he literally faked called his manager to make to a note of it. Seriously y’all, I’d bet any amount of money there wasn’t anyone on the other end of the line!

After a week goes by of a credit card charge but no pants we go to check and guess what? He isn’t there and no one knows what we are talking about. They have no order in their system and unlike what MARVIN told us THEY DONT EVEN SHIP CLOTHES TO THE STORE. 🙃

He went so far to make a fake email address so the shipping info was never sent to us. For what reason? I have no clue. Probably the lack of caring.

Thankful the guy working was very helpful and got it sorted out for us, but it totally was a terrible experience. We now have to put on a rush order on the pants so they get here in time. I feel bad for the store giving this review because it really only reflects his terrible job.

I hope management takes the time to bring this to his attention and maybe he will be a little more personable and no one else will have to deal this...

I've never had poor service at this location until today. I went to the Clinique cosmetic counter to replenish supplies. I stood patiently waiting for assistance for almost 5 minutes before approaching a representative for assistance. Both were busy with customers, but neither acknowledged me having seen me standing there by making eye contact. I knew they were busy, but the person I approached abruptly responded that she was busy with a client. I would have appreciated her respectfully acknowledging me, and telling me that she'd be with me asap. I was very disappointed with the customer service on this day, and I almost left the store.

Thanks to the manager nearby I was able to get the items I needed, but I may go elsewhere in the future if these associates are working when I'm...
