I am very pleased with my new kitchen floor from Calvetta Bros. It looks terrific. The sales experience was a pleasure. Chad worked with me answering my myriad of questions. The fact that I was able to take home samples made everything easier.

• I wish I could rate the installation process separately. It was absolutely AWFUL.

The salesman said that he forwarded my emails about this situation to the installation department. I have yet to hear from them.

I highly suggest that you find out exactly who is going to be doing your installation and talk to other customers that have had that installation team. From other reviews, it appears that there are some excellent ones.

I was having a tile floor removed and replaced with Luxury Vinyl Plank. I was told the process would take two days, at worst two and a half days. The whole process took five working days.

I was told to expect the work to start between 8 and 10 in the morning. On the very first day, I received a call that the installer would not be able to come until 1:30. I said that was unacceptable. He came out at about 10:30.

He said he did not have time the night before to read the work order so he did not have with him the tools he needed to pull up the old tile flooring. He did not even have tape to put the plastic sheeting needed in order to keep the dust out of the rest of the house. He removed the baseboards and left saying that his knees are bad after all these years and he can't work more than five hours each day.

The next day he sent someone else and I finally saw progress. After the fourth day, I received a call asking me to pay the remainder of my bill since the installer reported that the job was finished. It certainly was not.

I wish I had been told to cover my cabinets. I had removed everything from the counters but that didn't really help. The plastic the installer put up was practically useless. It didn't seem to be put up correctly. The dust permeated everything in the kitchen, dining, and living rooms.

When the job was actually finished the installer commented on how well my cabinets closed since there was hardly any dust inside them. That comment was not at all appreciated since I still had to wash every single item in...

Before the Thanksgiving holiday they installed carpeting on our staircase and hallway and installed wood flooring in a first-floor half bath. The staircase and hallway carpeting looks fabulous (real pros did the installation) but it’s really the padding thickness that feels luxurious yet steady that makes my husband and I (and others) comment on how incredible the new carpeting feels while walking on the steps. The carpet padding the Floor Show recommends is a bit thicker than their competitors but now with our new carpet, we know it is the absolute best recommendation.

We also ordered wood flooring for a half bath on the first floor. The Floor Show sent a separate crew to install the wood floor. The installation was great, but the product had major color imperfections. It was a few weeks before Thanksgiving and that half bath was critical for hosting the Thanksgiving family gathering (some family members have mobility issues). After the installation team left, I called the Floor Show customer service and sent photos. They told me they would call me back. About 30 minutes went by and one of the owners, Austin Calvetta, called me and told me they would make it right before the Thanksgiving holiday – they did! That’s customer service. I typically don't do business with folks who advertise on TV. That said, this was a PERFECT transaction from the quick and easy sale with Austin, the scheduling with Bud and the installation with Rick and his crew. I had been trying vainly to receive a quote from a well-respected Hudson flooring store but after three tries and still no quote I went to Calvetta. Austin Calvetta well understood what we were looking for (we showed him a sample of the flooring that his product would be adjacent to) and the first thing he showed us was perfect. Although he likely had higher cost options he gladly showed us what we needed--he cared more for serving us than maximizing his sale. It doesn't hurt that his pet dog is even better at sales than Austin. The product was delivered on time and installed on time. Covid-19 precautions included masks by everyone who served us (except the dog). I own 24 rental properties in another county outside Calvetta's service area and buy flooring many times a year--I know quality products, service and fair prices. Don't go anywhere else--Calvetta Brothers will make you happy.
