Typically I would've rated this 3 stars. However, I went to Lizardville to meet two of my male friends. Once I arrived we moved from the outside bar to the fireplace area. We wiped down the chairs from earlier rain that wasn't dry yet. The supervisor Kat was the bartender for the outside area. She had a very bad attitude towards us. She kept telling us that we HAD to cash out and we informed her we wanted to run a tab with a card. She kept saying she wanted to close out each transaction no matter if we were paying with a card or cash. It didn't make sense if we were going to continue to eat and drink. Additionally, I asked her if she could cut my cherry cigar. As she took the cigar from my friend as he gave it to her she rolled her eyes. She brought the cigar back and placed it on the table in a wet area wetting the cigar. She was very rude, she wasn't personable. Additionally, she kept telling us to cash or charge the card after every request (as if we were going to skip out on the bill). Once one of the food servers came out I asked for a manager and he pointed to Kat stating she was the manager. He asked what happened and I explained the situation to him. After that, Kat never returned to the table again and multiple employees served us the remaining of the night. I've been here numerous times (including Winking Lizard) and I've never been treated with this type of rudeness and horrible attitude. Kat was extremely rude and...
Read moreWhenever a friend wants to meet for a beer, there’s nowhere else I want to go. I can’t get enough of this place. If you like whisky, it’s the best place to drink them in CLE. The bartenders and waiters can steer you to one you haven’t tried, or to one that you have, and then tell you all about it. You’ll drink and then learn, making you an educated drinker. Is that important? I don’t know. Is that fun? It is.
But especially if you’re a beer lover, the wait staff are all experts. There is a ridiculous selection of beers here. That’s because the concept is that it’s a bar inside of a nice beverage store. The selection looks more like a library, with sections for each region and variety of beers. And when you don’t know what you want, it’s better. Just know the type beer you like ant the bartender or waiter will steer you in the right direction.
There’s not much in this area of town when it comes to restaurants or bars, but Lizardville is...
Read moreWe called ahead for a group of 15 and were told they could accommodate us. Upon arrival, we were seated right away, which we appreciated. However, the service unfortunately fell short from there. Only part of our group received water, and drink orders were taken for just a few of us. After waiting over an hour, only 3 out of the 15 of us had received drinks, and none of us had our food orders taken — some of us still never even got a water.
Frustrated and hungry, several people in our group decided to leave. Those of us who did get drinks cashed out and went next door to Winking Lizard, where we were served immediately, despite not having called ahead.
We were really disappointed in the lack of organization and service at Lizardville, especially after giving them notice. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning, but we’re grateful Winking Lizard was able to turn our...
