Read moreCouple of months back I drove 3+ hours in my truck to multiple D.S.G. locations all because they said on the phone they had the Co2 canister I needed and could fill it, only to go all the way there and be told they were completely out of Co2, a valve was broken on their fill tank, or no one was on staff to fill the bottle (completely contrary to what I was told on the phone).
Every store just sent me off to a different location without a care in the world, even though I explained to them that it didn't make sense to tell me they could help me on the phone only to turn me away in person (not to mention all the gas I wasted). This one was the only one that offered to make it right after hearing what I had been through and how much I had to drive for a simple Co2 canister/fill, and even though they weren't the store who gave me bad service, they still wanted to make it up to me, a manager got involved and store charged the bottle and the fill, and offered me a gift card to apologize for the bad customer service at the other locations on top of it all, even after I said I wasn't looking to get anything for free, he still insisted, saying that, "This isn't how we treat our athletes (I guess what they call their customers) at D.S.G.".
I'm not going to lie, that was the last day I was ever going to do business with D.S.G., but that whole experience changed it all. Genuinely good customer service is rare these days, and I still tell people about how nice those guys were to help me out like that, everyone says I should write a review when I tell them about it, so here I am....
Read moreI had a gift card that I was given for Christmas that I wanted to buy a new Longhorn hat. I pop on over and this place is well stocked. My biggest complaint was the Longhorn items were all over the store, which made me walk the whole store. I did get some assistance from the guy who was working the bike repair. He was nice, but just pointed where the Longhorn stuff was. Gee, Thanks. I was just there and did not find anything. I am sure it was not his department and could not look on his little computer or scan tool too see if they even had anything I was looking for. I was pretty much on my own. I left empty handed and frustrated. And please Dick's Sporting Goods for the love of God, stop allowing people to bring their freaking dogs into your store. This is not a pet store. There are places where is it perfectly acceptable to bring your dog in to the store. A sporting goods store is not one of them, especially when the Labordoodle was barking its head off. The employee just shrugged and says, "Its Austin." That is the biggest cop out ever. Enforce your policies and stop turning a blind eye to these entitled fools. "I am sorry, but your dog is not allowed in the store." You have the right to refuse...
