I took some time to write this review as it has taken another stylist to fix what occurred.

On my visit despite sharing pictures of my blonde hair prior to moving to Maine (recently) from another state I ended up with hair color that was a sludgy purple grey. The stylist then tried to correct it after speaking to another stylist and I at least was no longer sludge grey. I got home and realized instead it was a hot rooty tone of orange. My ash blonde no more.

The stylist said well water is to blame except I had a high end full house filter and water tested so have minimum minerals in my water.

Effectively the salon seems inexperienced in color management and technique compared to my stylist. She was very nice but they are clearly out of their depth.

It is going to take still 12 more months for my hair to get back to what it was in the day I walked into that salon using specialist color correction and safe processing.

I have suffered severe breakage and had strong hair.

I believe this salon needs to consider its stylist education in terms of color. I nearly went back for a second appointment as I was hoping for a better outcome but thankfully did not on reflection and getting feedback and cancelled.

I have been a client of Kelsey’s for approximately 17+ years. When BobbyPin Salon opened I followed her there and what a wonderful experience. The salon is stunning, the atmosphere is very calming, and when you’re in the chair you feel as if you’re the only one there. All the stylists are very kind and accommodating and very professional. I am a former hairstylist. I am very, very, particular and Kelsey has never let me down nor has this salon. I don’t understand the comment by “Nancy” stating they just stand around. Sometimes, as a color or foils are processing, it is important for a stylist to stand close by and monitor the process. Especially when lightener is being used. It can go from zero to disaster quickly. I have never experienced anything mentioned in that review from Kelsey or the other stylists. Bring a stylist you hardly ever get down time or a break. And those that are in the profession and stick with it do so because it’s their passion. That is obvious with these stylists at BobbyPin. After 3 visits here, we won't be returning. Twice my youngest wasn't happy with her haircut. The first time it wasn't so awful, just a little bit off on one side. This time the stylist was obviously new needing much assistance during the cut only to cut the bangs too short and overall too short. On top of all that, when I scheduled, I asked for 2 teen appointments, which we did last time and was my reason for choosing this salon. I wasn't told during scheduling, rather found out at checkout, that they've done away with teen cuts. So instead of $25/ea, I was charged 45/ea and asked for tip. A heads up when I asked to schedule teen cuts would have been prudent. My oldest was fine with her cut, and when I went in myself last time it was also fine.... just fine, nothing to brag about.
