Based on their beautifully descriptive website, I fully intended to experience a delicious meal that was representative of their homeland. Wrong. This place is nothing more than a tourist trap offering poor quality food easily found in the frozen section of your local supermarket. Their Pad Thai was nothing remotely similar to an authentic dish; mainly a plate of noodles with seemingly random large chunks of veggies thrown in, two lousy bean sprouts and a scallion stalk doused in a strange brown sauce that looked and tasted nothing like the traditional, fresh ingredients I’m accustomed to. And the shrimp appetizer? Nothing fresh and homemade here. It looked and tasted like any other run-of-the-mill shrimp you’d find in your frozen section. This place was shockingly bad. And the 5-Star Reviews from happy customers is equally shocking. If you’re truly into fresh, authentic Thai food, this is not the place! It’s also worth mentioning why I gave 1-Star for service - due to the employee’s insistence that we order more food. When we refused, she evidently squeezed a little more out of us after all: once home we discovered our take-out order had protein added, despite us ordering vegetable ONLY. We checked our receipt and sure enough, she charged us more than what we asked for. Two...
Read moreWe are foodies, and spend our timeshare vacation on MDI, every year. This restauant has permanently changed our dining plans, even though its 120 miles R/T. We even changed our vacation plans, so we could eat there a second time. It was worth it. The drunken noodles were my choice, while my wife chose Pad Thai. Head and shoulders better than any Asian dish, we've had anywhere, any state. It would be a crime not to mention this lovely family, who are so welcoming and friendly. The daughter was our server, and she is so pleasant, and so helpful, I am looking forward to her service again. She suggested next time, I try the sausage, that she helps make. Needless to say, Laan-Xang, is in our dining plans, and we may stop by on the way in, and on the way out, plus a trip in the middle. We love supporting this restaurant, and the...
Read moreUnfortunately we won't be back. We've been coming for many years (not that often but about 8 - 10 visits) and while the server is absolutely lovely, we can't justify $60 for a lunch for two when the food has grown to be so ... uninspired. The Cornish game hen is served with some boiled? frozen vegetables that have no sauce and are absolutely tasteless. My pho with beef had 3 ingredients, broth, noodles and a couple pieces of beef. No vegetables at all, and this time not even any fresh sprouts on the side like I used to get. It was ridiculously simple, 3 ingredients and hardly any beef. Have always liked you but I think you've gotten tired of making the same food over and over. If we are going to spend $60 it has to be some tasty food and some generosity on the part...
