Do not go to this place. Not an ER. Advent Health should be checking into this facility! I canât wait to get the automated response. My 92 year old father started feeling sick with what we thought was a cold. However three days later his temp was high 100.4 to 101. Congested cough, Nausea and diarrhea. Covid symptoms. Did a home test, positive. But not sure as the test was older. We Called his Dr who asked about symptoms and temp. Dr said, go to the ER to confirm Covid or Flu. Ok. So we drove to the nearest ER. Advent health Belleview. Upon arrival I called from the car to confirm he could get a Covid Test for confirmation. She, Bernie, said yes and that he could come in register and wait for a room and triage to get him. When he signed in we told her again that we were there to confirm Covid or Flu. Reception, Bernie did not tell us that their ER does not do Covid/Flu testing so the next three hours were a major blunder. Nurse Sandy came in. Didnât know why we were there. She askedâ Why are you here nothing on orderâ. We told her to confirm test for Covid or flu. Third time we could have been told they do not test for Covid/Flu and left. Nurse Sandy continued with her vitals order. Blood Pressure pulse and temperature. OK. Then she lifted the bed to draw four tubes of blood. I now asked. Can you tell Covid or flu through blood??? She said no. So I asked why bloodwork? She states âitâs on my order !?Concerned, I asked again. When are you going to test for Covid /flu. Annoyed, she came around the bed, hit the down button on the bed and the bed literally fell down to the floor Boom. Nurse Sandy walked out of the room Only to return with more orders for a hook up to monitor my dadâs heart, EKG and chest X-ray (Portable Unit). Again I questioned the need for all this as we still havenât confirmed Covid or Flu positive!!! She left the room and we could hear them talking in the hall. Now enters, Katelyn, lead nurse who wants to know âwhatâs the problemâ I explained again that we came in to confirm Covid or Flu. She gave the same reasoning very smartly and down talking to us. Always with the last word! She now says that the order performs the basics in ER. Basics for what! We needed a Covid /flu test. Nurse Katelyn was very aggravated and kept repeating the same thing. And then states if we want none of this we can request to leave. We just wanted to know if Covid was in fact an issue. Which we could check his respiratory. She leaves and the best yet, Dr Kurtz enters ( more like Nurse Rachett). She had a major attitude as she has already been speaking with the other nurses. Then She states,â we donât do Covid testing here. Youâre at the wrong place.â If heâs positive wouldnât you want to make sure his vitals are in check ??? They have not done a Covid test! And. They were not going to. Then she states that we are just rude!! Rude to question what they are doing. Rude to request the Covid test that we registered for when we came in. Of which Dr Kurtz noted she would be sure to tell the receptionist, with attitude. Then she asked what we wanted to do. We stated âŚA COVID /Flu test!!!! She asked if we wanted the COVID/Flu test four timesâŚ. Yes we did. And guess what they had the test at their hospital. None of the test needed to be performed and billed to insurance, none of these four people at this emergency room needed to be so rude and talk to us in the way they did. This was an awful experience from a facility that is in business to assist patients with their needs. Whatever their needs may be. Covid test done. Yes positive. Dr Kurtz came in to tell us he is positive but the drug used to assist in recovery doesnât Mix with the medications that he is currently taking so there in nothing she can do. Wrote a scrip for nausea. When we asked about all the other test results. No info shared. She said we could check on their portal on line or call records?!! Really. The test showed nothing. Do not go to this facility. Awful non caring staff. ...
Read moreI have visited this "ER" previously with my two sisters, and on both occasions, we had been treated kindly and quickly. However, last night, my dad took my mom after days of trying to convince her to go, only to find that things have changed, and for the worst. My mom seems to be fighting a urinary infection, initially thought to be a kidney stone, for the past two weeks and half (give or take,) and lately has been bleeding with clots, always screaming when she has to go to the bathroom and can barely sit up anymore, if at all. Instead, my parents were forced to wait four to five hours, having arrived during the daytime and decided to leave at night, she provided a sample and her blood pressure was taken, but that was it. Patients came in, but were treated first, despite her having after her, even after the first hour had passed. Eventually, they realized that the most probable reason for not being treated was because the others are white Americans, whereas my parents and I are Puerto Ricans. As American as the rest of the patients, but our faces and language seemed to hold my parents back. My dad attempted to question why my mom wasn't being treated despite having waited for hours, but they were told that people are admitted according to emergency. However, NOT A SINGLE person that came after was either bleeding, vomiting, nor brought in via ambulance. In fact, even the staff was worried and checked my mom's blood pressure three times and decided to keep her with a monitor to keep an eye on it, but that was it. To the Puerto Rican staff who had the audacity to explain that admissions depends on the severity of the emergency, I refuse to believe you, and should a "true" American explain the same, I refuse to believe them too. My mom is still in an EMERGENCY mode, now having clots in her urine, and the fact that an emergency has to be "booked" by appointment is even worse. More than livid, I am heartbroken, because nothing can be worse than watching my mom on her birthday wondering what she ever did to be denied any health care, to which the answer is: nothing. As I write this, I am in tears to see that not just an American was denied health access, but that my mom, a human being, has to withstand so much pain for no reason. So, to this so-called ER, thanks for ruining my mom's birthday, thanks for...
Read moreIt was horrible! I didnât get a doctor I got a PA and she didnât even examine me. I thought I had a parasite, maybe worms, but didnât know. Iâm not a doctor. She humiliated me and treated me like I was hallucinating and my concerns were not valid. I had a sample with me. I had video evidence and pictures. My uncle had seen whatever it was move under my skin. I told her I just wanted help! No narcotics just antiparisitics. She didnât want to help and this was the 2nd doctor unwilling to help. I could understand that Teledoc needed to see it up close, but this ER doctor was ridiculous. Finally. When I told her âthatâs okay I came here and have record you refused to help me and the doctor on call refused to treat me. If anything should happen to me your hospital and yâall will be responsible. I hope youâre ready for that burden.â She ran to the Dr. on call and prescribed me Ivermectin. Needlessly to say I donât know if itâs 100% working. Iâm meeting with my dermatologist on Monday just to go over a few things bc they basically just wanted me gone and I just wanted the meds. If they would have been helpful in the first place i wouldnât have been such a jerk. Yes, I did pay my $220 and plan to pay the rest of my bill. Little outrageous for not doing anything. Maybe you should hire staff with better bedside manner. They tell patients that we donât know very much about worms or scabies⌠scabies affects 400 million people worldwide according to WHO. Get better educated staff! I will go to PMA now that they are covered by...
