I walked into Pioneer Wines & Liquors excited to go to my friends winter formal later that night. I was looking to buy a tall can of Budweiser and a few shooters of Jack Daniels and when I was checking out, one of the employees asked to see my I.D. This is totally understandable as I look younger than I am but I am always happy to provide my license. When he looked at my drivers license he very hesitantly turned it over a few times and then handed it back to me declaring that my GOVERNMENT ISSUED FORM OF IDENTIFICATION was “phony”. Read moreThis place was a great neighborhood liquor store. Staff is friendly and they have all the basics. The two starts is because of how ridiculously their prices have gone up. I would regularly go there to buy my wine which was about $12-13 which is more or less where it is everywhere else. Twice recently I’ve gone in and the same bottle is now $17 (we’re talking about Robert Mondavi, for reference). That is OUTRAGEOUS. I just bought the same bottle at another liquor store recently for $10. So needless to say, when I went again yesterday, I did the same and went down to Belleville liquors around the block and their prices are actually reasonable....
Read moreThere were no prices on the high noons. I asked and the owner told me the 12 pack high noon was $32 and the 8 pack high noon was $24. This is extremely unfair pricing. At Bottle King an 8 pack is $17.99 and a 12 pack is 24.99. Seems like they purposely did not put pricing on these items in order to charge way more for them. Not happy...
