Unfortunately, my experience with Seams by Jenny has been extremely disappointing—highly overrated. The main reason I chose this place was for its reputation, but that turned out to be a big mistake.
I strongly discourage anyone from dealing with people who lack integrity. I paid approximately $200 for alterations to the sleeves and hem of an elegant dress, and it was simply not worth it. When I initially tried on the dress, I didn't notice a small defect that should have been addressed from the start. This issue should have been included in the service, as it was something that needed fixing.
I picked up and paid for the dress, even though I felt the price was high—I take full responsibility for that decision. However, what I did not agree to was having such a frustrating experience. When I noticed the defect at home, I called the next day to address it. I spoke with the seamstress’s daughter, who failed to mention that there would be an additional charge. I simply expressed my dissatisfaction with the service. Had she informed me upfront, I would have avoided putting myself in an uncomfortable situation a second time.
Understandably, I was upset. I had to leave work to return to the store, only to be met with a defensive seamstress. I did not appreciate her condescending tone as she insisted the issue wasn’t her fault. My only goal was to resolve the problem, yet she unethically demanded an additional charge for the correction. Her unprofessionalism and arrogance were shocking.
As a paying customer, one expects to receive quality service. If an issue arises, a professional business owner should know how to handle it properly to ease a customer’s frustration—that’s what good business is about. Instead, the seamstress let her ego take precedence over customer satisfaction, refusing to fix the defect. In the end, I felt completely disregarded, as my time and money were wasted.
I would not recommend this...

Read moreThis place must be great for your daughter's $200 prom dress. But if you own expensive clothing, don't make the mistake I did.
I went here due to the great reviews and brought in a very expensive boiled wool jacket. They pinned the sides (torso) of the coat and also the sleeves.
When I went to pick up the coat, it was utterly destroyed. They did not use an edging machine or properly sew the edging.
Also, it was very bumpy in the various places where the jacket was taken in. I was confused at first and thought that maybe they had not ironed the jacket. They assured me that they had in fact ironed it.
When I commented about the seams not being right, they answered "I sewed it by hand!", as if that was something they and I should be proud of.
On the sides, after you take in a garment in the torso, you are supposed to take the margins and tack them down on either side and then sew those sides down for a seamless look. Instead of doing this. they took the margins and rolled them on to one side and then sewed that together. This led to the bumpy look which just looks awful.
You can see in these pictures how the sewing does not at all match. How do they expect someone to walk around in a garment that looks this awful? I am...
