I don't typically leave bad reviews, especially for small businesses. But this experience was very hard for me and my guests, so hopefully it's useful for prospective customers lurking in the review section. I also shared and confirmed all the details here with the business owner via text before posting this, so hopefully it's all constructive feedback.
We made a ~1200 USD order for 25 people, including a 25% service fee. The confirmed order delivery time was 11:30AM. We were told around 11:00AM that things are running "a little bit behind" (exact words). No ETA. After, we couldn't get a hold of anybody until 12PM. At 12:30PM, we called again but was told that the order would be another 45 minutes late. At around 1:30PM, we were told to wait another 20 minutes. The order arrived close to 2PM. The wasabi was in a powder form in a bag (which we accepted), and there was no soy sauce. I get traffic is outside anybody's control. I requested a service charge refund (25%) for the the 2.5 lateness, but was offered an omakase (stated $550 value) or sushi workshop instead. These options didn't work for us, but we were firmly denied any cash refund for the lateness. When I texted the business owner later with the points above and let him know I would post this on Google, I was offered a $50 refund for the delivery fee. For me, this doesn't nearly cover the fact that our guests had 1 hour left in the venue reservation to eat hurriedly and leave.
It would have been preferable for us to be made aware before the promised delivery time that there would be a 2.5 hour delay, and we could have made other arrangements. I understand traffic is outside of anybody's control, but I was pretty disappointed with how the business took accountability for the situation. Maybe this risk is acceptable to some, but my guests and I were very confused and upset about how this...
Read moreAbsolutely INCREDIBLE experience!! I cannot recommend this more highly. From start to finish, working with Kaiyo was a seamless and enjoyable experience. Chef Joshua was able to answer all of my (many) questions patiently and with such a high degree of professionalism. They do an amazing job with their menu and fully customize it to whatever your needs/preferences are. Chef Joshua included vegetarian rolls at our request and even doubled up on sashimi since that is my Dad's favorite food.
The dining experience was absolutely magnificent as well. Chef came to our house and got right to work. He was more than happy to let us observe as he prepped all the food and again answered any curiosities we had. The sushi itself, aside from being delicious, was absolutely beautiful. The presentations, the colors, the sauces, etc. It almost was a shame to eat it! But we did and WOW! Such vibrant flavors and Chef Joshua clearly takes immense pride in his craft. Each piece stood out in flavor and presentation. We really could not have been happier and even had plenty of leftovers! The amount of food you get for the price and experience is 100% worth it. I could NOT recommend...

Being new parents, it is extremely difficult to get out these days, so why not bring the ULTIMATE experience to your home? It was my husband's birthday and we couldn't find a babysitter, so I thought why not?
From the menu, to the experience, the presentation, the plating, the conversation, but most importantly, the TASTE - everything was DELICIOUS. I'm not just saying that either! Josh satisfied all of my sushi cravings especially since being pregnant, I didn't have sushi for almost a year!
We couldn't have asked for more. We were really intrigued about how he found his passion and you could tell he was passionate about his food the way he spoke about it.
I'd say, if Joshua was to ever open a restaurant in the Seattle area, Seattle should be prepared as the Seattle food industry is missing refined food such as this.
Highly recommend and I would book again in a HEARTBEAT.
Thank you for giving us parents the perfect date night with...
