Do they even read the reviews? Don't go here! Don't let your kids go here! Your safety is at risk! This was my #1 coffee shop for the last two years. The line is always long and the food is overpriced and not allergy-friendly AT ALL, but I've happily stood in line for a $17 piece of bread with low-quality turkey stuffed inside with a smile on my face. Some issues over the years, getting same drink wrong multiple times, occasional rude baristas, but mgmt was always quick to solve them and really cared. That all changed recently. I took my place in the long line. Grabbed a chia and stopped to check the label. An adult male pushed his way in front of me, clipping my shoulder and cutting in line. I said excuse me, I was ahead of you. He stared straight ahead, pretending to ignore me. I spoke up again. He then said "Whenever you're ready." But made no move to step back. I'm ready right now, I said. He then imitated me in mocking voice, staring straight ahead. All happened by the sandwich case where employees cannot hear or see unless they're watching the mirror. I was so stunned by this behavior and scared he might do something violent (he already hit my shoulder and was acting anti-social), that I got out of line, nearly in tears, and flagged down an older Latino worker, thought was a manager. He said he'd have to go get someone. What I expected was for the man who cut in line ON PURPOSE to be spoken to and told that was inappropriate & wasn't allowed in the establishment and to have my drink made and my food rung up as a priority. No one came over to talk to me. I stood there alone, scared the guy might circle back, for several minutes. Finally I walked around the back side of the bar toward the bathrooms, totally lost for what to do. I saw the Latino man standing and talking intensely to a very large white woman in the bakery, over the fence-type thing. Finally she beckoned me to approach her. Didn't come to me. She didn't have the time to walk that far, I guess. This was about 10 minutes after I initially signaled for help. Honestly I could just tell from the way she was looking at me that she didn't take this seriously. She told me she was THE manager of the entire store, and that they would do nothing about the incident, absolutely nothing, because, I quote "We Are Non-Confrontational." As though that's her religion. I didn't think I could be any more shocked, but I was. She said the only thing they would ever do was call the police, but they will never speak to any guest about inappropriate behavior. So, ladies, that includes lewd behavior, flashing women, trying to touch kids, following you into the bathroom, stalking behavior, etc. This huge woman, who is apparently in charge of the whole store somehow, lacks basic human decency and even a smidge of protective instinct. And that's what she's telling all her employees, folks. Just do nothing and pretend it never happened. Is that what the Mercury Coffee Company represents? If so, I would advise you all never to set foot in another one of their shops.
To be clear, NO ONE asked them to get into a fist fight with this guy. NO ONE asked then to have a physical confrontation! I expected them to do SOMETHING, though, yes. How poor do your management skills and people skills have to be that you don't know how to speak to someone and correct them, remind them this is a place with rules, without thinking this will someone come to blows? She just looked like a very scared woman with zero confidence to me. Not someone who should be managing anything. And she never even asked me what I'd wanted to order or offered to have them make it for me. She couldn't be bothered to cross the bakery fence after all. Suddenly, I was the problem, inexplicably. She even started with placations, "I'm sorry you FELT that way." No, lady, this isn't about my hurt feelings.
Funny, though, because my family called several other Mercury's after this trying to ascertain our safety, and MANY of them said they have personally kicked people out regularly for bad behavior, let alone give...
Read moreThe classic Latte coffee is very mediocre. I wonder what makes this place so popular. 7/12/25, I visited there for the first time. I heard people said this place had very good coffee, so I liked to try. There was a long line when I went there.
I saw lots of pastries, but those were not my intention today. I need good coffee. I liked to enjoy sipping coffee when driving long distance. If they name this place as a coffee roaster, the main show should be coffee, not the pastry, right? So, I ordered a classic 12oz hot Latte. It was very basic order. I didn't set my expectation high at all. If it tastes on par with Starbucks or other good local coffee shops, I'm ok. Turned out, the coffee taste was very mediocre. The barista was a young staff member. I'm not sure he got trained how to make the coffee or not, or perhaps, he didn't have to do anything, just placing a cup and the machine handling the rest, maybe??
The latte was super hot and I had to request for a sleeve to hold it. The high temperature totally ruined the foam layer on the top completely. Besides poor execution, the coffee I got was the same level as a small rural coffee stand where the staff are lacking in proper training in bringing out flavor when making coffee. The only thing I noticed was the coffee had a good aroma but not much. However, either the young barista or the machine completely ruined the artistry of making coffee. If they couldn't even make a basic coffee like a classic latte, instead of advertising as a coffee roaster, why not name this place as a Bakery. Those pastries looked good, but I only needed...
Read moreThis place is conveniently located and has pretty good (extra large American size) baked goods. Their Chia Overnight Oats is very good—almost as good as my favorite overnight oats from the nearby Farine Bakery. Their drinks are unfortunately sub par—I find the flavors to be extremely weak and diluted. But we like their baked goods and overnight oats, and we have ordered from them via Doordash a few times.
The biggest problem about this particular Mercury Coffee is that their Doordash system is completely broken. I don't know how they deal with the in-store and Doordash orders, but it is not working. Last month we placed a large order and 1/2 of the items did not arrive. We asked them to re-deliver the missing items and they sent the wrong things. I thought they were just having a bad day, so I tried to order a few items this morning (a couple of drinks and food items). This time they managed to deliver 4 of the 8 items I had ordered, and one of those was the wrong item. I asked Doordash to refund those items, but it seems ridiculous that a simple order cannot be filled correctly. Not to mention that a Doordash refund doesn’t affect the tip, so I significantly overpaid for what turned out to be poor service. This isn’t the fault of DoorDash or the delivery person--Mercury Coffee is the point of failure. We place similar large orders at nearby Woods Coffee or Starbucks regularly, but they never make a mistake. What is the probability that the order is screwed up every single time? Something about their process for managing orders is...
