Curt was there!! Curt was there!! Our FAVORITE Shark Tank inventor was IN-HOUSE!
Okay - anyway - my wife and I just returned home from a visit to The Oilerie in Bellevue, WI (not far from Lambeau Field). We purchased a good number of items: San Marzano tomatoes, pizza flour, Italian olive salad, chili fig spread, organic fettuccine, and, of course, a couple bottles of their beautiful Fior Fiore E.V.O.O.
Now, the variety of items at The Oilery is always impressive (I shop there for personal items AND to purchse gifts), but meeting Curt (for the second time) was a thrill! He's such a genuinely kind man, willing to take time to chat, laugh a little, and he also made sure to thank us, sharing how much it meant to him (and his family) that we stopped by. I actually noticed Curt sharing that same sentiment with the customers that checked out before us.
All that being said, I hope any visitors to the Green Bay or surrounding areas will give The Oilery a visit! The products are just perfect, but the owner, Curt, and the people that work there are what make The Oilerie so special (okay, we're return customers because of the products, but you get what I'm saying)!
So, all our best to whomever reads this review! WE LOVE THE OILERIE and YOU WILL,...
Read moreThe balsamic vinegar is good, but not great. The biggest problem I have with all of the imported olive oils and balsamic vinegars is that the source is not identified. I have inquired about the source of the olive oils, eg--which specific regions of Italy and not much of an explanation to satisfy me. For example, the description of the aged balsamic vinegar says "it has the flavor, aromas and density of a 25 year old aged balsamic", but they don't say that it is 25 year old aged balsamic, and is it from Modena? If it was actual 25 year old aged balsamic from Italy the tag would have D.O.C on it. It does not. The same for the olive oil, EVOO or not, it is not single sourced; it is a mix of oils from various regions in Italy bought in bulk and not much flavor. The exception is the Colle Monacesco, which is...
Read moreI was lucky enough to have had a friend take me to The Oilerie when I was visiting WI from San Diego years ago, and I was hooked. California has many places to buy similar products, but not of the quality of this shop. If you are lucky enough to actually visit them, you will be enchanted with the trip you will take to Italy. The personal service and owner involvement is also unparalleled, especially nowadays. Pls treat yourself or gift items to...
