[ First of all, I just read the prior - and only one at the time - review for Target East......Really? A distracted customer loses an item in the parking lot by leaving it behind. They drive away and then come back. It is not turned in by anyone (and logically presumed stolen). And this is Target's fault how? Wow. What do you expect a manager to do? Itâs not their fault. And that's worth a ding on their service? wow. ]
I do a lot of shopping in the Brown County / Green Bay area; personally and for groups I am engaged with, including Small Shops to the Big Box places. The continuum of service, as a whole, generally runs from the greatest in smaller venues to (still good but) lesser as you go up in size. That is just the nature of things. Target East definitely breaks this mold. Customer service here, at times, rivals that which you would expect to receive at a "Mom and Pop" store.
My basis for review is having been a customer here for several years. Although they do not know me by name or face (I'm not that popular!), I get the same treatment I would expect if they did know me that well. It is an unusual experience for me to enter this store and not be greeted or some sales person make eye contact and smile within my first few minutes in the door.
Floor staff is friendly and helpful. If they don't have an answer for me, I am immediately put in touch with someone who does. I have even been in the store when a family comes in and the kids announce loudly, "Is (insert employee name) here today? We want to see (insert same name)!" Wow - that has to say something!
It is rare to make it thought check out without some form of friendly conversation with the check-out people.
Managers appear to have excellent relationships with their subordinates; actually look like they enjoy working together. Happy workers make good workers, I am guessing. Although I have never had a manager level problem, I have watched management handle such issues. I am impressed, especially when they are forced to deal with unreasonable customers. They are very good at keeping their poise and professionalism. As a Law Enforcement Officer by trade, I can appreciate how difficult that can be at times. Target managers appear to be top notch in that department.
Speaking of LE, the line goes that Cops always know the locations of 2 things: good places to eat, and clean bathrooms. For eats, they have a Starbucks in house. HOWEVER, their bathrooms are always immaculate. Even my wife is impressed with them on this point.
Prices are good to competitive. Main items will go on sale from time to time, if you are patient. Signing up for a Red Card gets you an ongoing discount. Merchandise quality is good to excellent. I have had to return only one item, and that process went very well.
I cannot vouch for produce, but that area looks very attractive; as does the overall look of the store itself. Outside lot and store front always look well kept - an area most stores periodically overlook just due to busyness.
Overall, Target East sets the standard in my book for "bigger box"/department type stores with their overall look, quality, and customer service. It has become my and my family's east side Green Bay first stop when looking for something. I and we are very impressed with them. I highly recommend considering this store for you...
Read moreMy family normally has a fantastic experience at this Target. Clean, well organized, and overall just great (I've moved a lot and gone to several different stores, and still hold this one high on my list).
However. This afternoon, the Honest Company had a deal on baby wipes, buy 2 and get a $10 gift card. Great deal, why not? I was in a different section of the store, so my mother decided to go ahead and take the wipes, along with diapers, through checkout. That way we could get the deal and didn't have to share cart space while shopping for other stuff. But she didn't see the fine print saying "Buy 2" on the sale flyer. When the wipes were rung up, and the sale didn't appear, she asked why and a young lady named Zoe was called over (we're assuming that she's a manager). She showed my mother her screen as she flipped through the sales that showed up on her POS scanner. "See? No sales." When my mother asked if she should go back and take a picture of the flyer, the young lady said "If you want." By then, I met up with my mother, and after she explained the entire experience, we went to the wipes aisle together, grabbed a second box, and went to customer service.
By then, I had not had an interaction with Zoe. But on the way to the desk, my one year old daughter ran in front of Zoe and Zoe glared at her. No smile, no positive interaction, no excuse me. And then Zoe waited for my, again 1 year old, daughter to move slightly before stomping past her, just to go stand in self checkout with her arms crossed. No
On a positive note, we had an excellent experience with the customer service team. There, 2 people were behind the counter. A lady (I didn't see a name tag), and John (I believe). The lady returned the one box of wipes that we had purchased, and then rerung both of the boxes we had so we could get the deal. We had a great conversation with them while the return was being processed, and they even put the return money on a gift card so that we could use it straight away. They saved our experience today.
Like I said before, we normally have a great experience here. But Zoe definitely put a...
Read moreMy wife and I recently visited this specific Target store after seeing online that it had three Good & Gather 20-24 lb. turkeys in stock, whereas the west side Green Bay store closer to us had none.
We traveled over eight miles to come to this store, only to be told by an employee that they didn't have any such turkeys, including after checking in the back of the store twice and wasting over half an hour of our time doing so.
I asked to speak to the manager, who proceeded to come to the turkey section of the store, call me rude to my face (in an obvious attempt to embarrass me and my wife in a very public manner), tell me she would help me if I would be "nice," and then tell me to leave the store when I dared to ask for a concession, such as a gift card, for her store wasting me and my wife's time and us making what would be a 16 mile round trip for nothing.
Never before have I been disrespected in this way by a store I shop at as often as I shop at Target. And for the record, I have been a RedCard member for many years, yet this didn't matter to the condescending "manager" of this store that I had the displeasure of meeting, and who has absolutely no business working in customer service, let alone being a manager.
I ended up calling the corporate Target customer complaint hotline before I had even left this store to file a complaint against this manager, and the nice man who took my complaint very quickly offered me a $25 gift card for my trouble. To this date, however, I have yet to receive said gift card, and even if I do receive it, I will never delete or edit this review, because customers (and loyal ones, at that) should never be treated the way my wife and I were treated...
