I scheduled an appointment for a tire rotation for my girlfriend's parents for their vehicle since they are up in years, and this would be one less thing for them to stress over.
That's when the fun started. It took them awhile to find the vehicle in their system. They purchased the tires from Costco, so tire rotations are free. I am also a member, so I didn't think this would be an ordeal. It was. I ended up calling my girlfriend's father to get his Costco number. Apparently the orders have to be chiseled into some sort of stone tablet because it took way longer than it should to check in a vehicle with an appointment.
We finally got to the part of contacting me when the vehicle would be done, 30 to 60 minutes to rotate tires. I gave them my number and I'd be in the store. Before I left the counter, I double checked that they had my phone number to call me. Yep, yep, we got it.
60 minutes goes by and I'm checked out and now sitting over by their counter. They looked really busy for a place that had every bay open and workers standing around when I arrived. I sat there 15 minutes and people were coming and going, even the guy that checked me in. I thought we had a good thing going because of the amount of time we spent together checking in and I did slip him my number. Nope, I was invisible. I get up to check to see what is going on after 75 minutes since checking in.
Well there was an extensive line of one ahead of me and two people were really burning the midnight oil to help this guy buy tires. Others came and went and I still didn't exist. The one guy must have broken a sweat with tire guy because I could have sworn he left, took a shower, and came back to finish helping him. Finally someone comes to see if I've been helped. That's a negative.
I ask the status of my vehicle and he said it was done long ago. I asked why they didn't call me? "We didn't have your number" was his reply. I informed him that I gave it to them and double checked that they had it. I even went over to the pad that they wrote it down on and there it was. Amazing.
So, I guess this relationship is off. I was ghosted by a tire center after I gave them my "real" number. My shopping experience in the store was uneventful as usual. My experience with the tire center will be my last. Too bad. My car is due for tires and Costco Tire Center made it easier to find a place because I will not have to consider buying...
Read moreThis was by far, the worst Costco I have ever been to. I am a reasonable, rational person, however, this experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I have been to numerous Costco's in many states. My wife is a member on her mothers plan, and I typically don't shop at Costco but she loves it. Sometimes, I will make a run to the store for her and she is busy, and pick up things that she wants your needs. I bring her card to the checkout and tell the associate that I am here shopping for my wife, and it has never been a problem. However, this Costco, had an associate and what looks like an assistant manager on a power trip, trying to make things difficult. After telling them that I was picking up some Edamame for my wife, which I was, they immediately started giving me pushback and telling me that I couldn't shop here and that it was against their policy to let anybody but the cardholder pay for merchandise. After debating with them and asking them if they would like the business and the money, the assistant manager asked me for my wife's card, and then wrote down the number, stating "I'll let it slide this time, but we will put a block on her card until she comes in and verifies things". This out a bad taste in my mouth, so out of spite, and confusion, I went to the member services counter and purchased a separate executive membership for my wife and I, just so she wouldn't have a hold on the account. It seems ridiculous that I had to do this, all because of a lack of understanding on the assistant managers part, and lack of compassion for a man shipping for his wife, who is a member. I will always recommend Costco as a store, and for the most part the attentiveness of their employees, but some of their employees need some improvement on their...
Read moreIâve been a loyal Costco member since 2015, but my recent experience with the return service was very disappointing. It left me questioning whether I want to continue shopping at Costco as often as I used to. I also have a Samâs Club membership, and now I find myself shopping there more frequently.
A couple of months ago, I went to Costcoâs return center to return a pair of AirPods because one of the earbuds wasnât charging anymore. After checking my receipt, the employee, whose name I believe is Justin, told me that the AirPods on that receipt had already been returned. I asked if I had brought the wrong receipt, but he claimed to have checked my purchase history and said he didnât see any AirPods Iâd purchased from Costco that hadnât already been returned. Furthermore, he told me that the AirPods werenât bought at Costco.
I was confused because I didnât remember buying AirPods from anywhere else. A few weeks later, I found another receipt that I believed was correct and returned to the store. This time, I was able to return the AirPods without any issues. This confirmed to me that Justin had not been truthful during my first visit. He could have reviewed my purchase history and helped me identify the correct receipt, but instead, he misled me and insisted the AirPods werenât from Costco.
This experience made me lose trust in Costcoâs customer service. Since then, Iâve been shopping more at Samâs Club, and thanks to this incident, Iâve discovered that Samâs Club offers some products of better quality and at lower prices than Costco. After comparing frequently purchased items, Iâve found that about 85% of them are cheaper...
