2025 update: Iām still hereeeee! I have absolutely no intention of leaving this community Iāve entered into. Iāve made friends that I spend time with in and out of the studio. The energy/music of the classes keeps them fun and easy to stay motivated but theyāre not confusing and hard to follow along like other high energy workout classes Iāve tried. The coaches are also quick to jump in and help if you need it which also canāt be found at many other group workout gyms. ily, rkbx ā”
2024 update: Iāve officially been a member at Rockbox for a year and a half now. Iāve honestly never stuck with a gym/anything for this long before. I LOVE the workouts and have gotten so strong since joining but honestly itās the coaches and community that have kept me coming back. Iāve found an amazing support system in Rockbox. Itās so easy to fall into bad habits in life with eating and exercise (especially during these Seattle winters), but having so many strong people around me crushing their goals and supporting me with mine has been such an amazing benefit that I didnāt realize would come with this gym membership when I first joined.
2022 Review: I couldāve easily written this review months ago and everything I have to say wouldāve been the same, though I feel like it is a true testament to the quality of this gym that Iām 3 months in and my feelings havenāt changed (if anything, I love it more and more after each class).
The sense of support and community offered from everyone (participants and coaches) is such a special feeling and is what has kept me consistent.
Iām just under 3 months in and have lost about 10 lbs and gained a lot of my muscle and stamina back. Numbers aside though, my mental health has changed so drastically since starting with RockBox and that feels like the most important change personally.
Every coach is so kind and encouraging. They each have such a unique background in their own fitness journeys that you know youāre getting a well rounded workout and can always have someone to turn to if youāre feeling stuck or discouraged.
Iām very thankful for my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Im fair. The owner called for clarification and asked if she could show me around. No, thx I've signed with another company. Forgot to add, the receptionist was super helpful and very professional. Good asset for this company. I never stated racism, but the trainer/employee wasn't helpful.
$14 wraps were communicated day of appt. To a brand new person, never had this experience and wanted to, being turned away because they didn't buy the wraps wasn't a good way to drum up new business. But, ty for reaching out.
An ad on Facebook stated, free consultation. Never boxed, never strength trained, I was interested. I receieved a phone call to set up the appt and at the time of the call I was informed of a "free consultation" and I expressed losing weight, stretches and needed more mobility-
I was lied to, and told they would help with these things.
Day of the appt, I was informed I needed to purchase $14.00 wraps to wear under the boxing gear. They normally cost $3.00.
When I stated, I wanted to learn about the procedures, what they offered, ... etc. I was advised to reschesule since I wasnt purchasing the wraps.
No way in this lifetime would I ever go back or let anyone I know good vibes about this facility.
Also, when the trainer saw my son and myself (we are black) he told the receptionist, "I will handle this appt, (meaning the white guy standing there) you handle that" (my son and myself) as he waived his hand like he was shooing away a bug.
That, I igorned, but once I noticed he had no intention of helping because he thought we didnt have money (sooooo wrong btw), and wanted us to reschedule w/o even offering a tour, or statements regarding the equipment, this place is NOT culture friendly , and the picture on website...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am giving this review, for a list of reasons : The promotion in instagram and facebook, of 72 days transformation. The diet plan is a printed sheet of the food that you need to take and there is sections for each dietary type. This is the personalization that they are talking about and don't get overboard with the idea of personalized diet plan. There isn't anything special happening in 72 days. You would be just attending the normal classes. Please be aware of the cancellation policy which wasn't mentioned before. You need to physically sign a paper but you could enroll without any documentation [you could later do the documentation]. If you plan to cancel the options are 30 days notice or is to pay $133 for spot cancellation which doesn't make sense. How they get away by stating that there is no notes of the discussion. Heads up for anyone who would need to get something done. In my case I took 30 days wait but then from next month though charged I wasn't able to book classes. I informed them and now they report as there is no notes neither proof for the class I attended. The whole other promotion of founding member. The founding member pays equal as a normal member. It would just be by using a coupon or offer. It is a trick up every gym that they push you to enroll right away. Take your time when you want to join. The classes aren't bad, the idea that it bring strength training along with kick boxing is...
