This review is for Sunglasses hut only, not Macy’s. Shame on you guys! Sad you are inside a Macys. Hope Macys ends the contract as you are giving the brand a bad reputation. You are a disgrace and “shady” for pretending you do not know how to process a return so that your numbers for the day are impacted.
The tall short haired Caucasian woman working with glasses around 2:30 pm deliberately stalled on making an online return hoping I would leave and not “bother” her. I came in with a brand new pair of oakleys I purchased online with all original packaging, receipt and unworn. The associate pretending she was “frightened” and didn’t know how to process a return and opened the box and began wiping the glasses over 50 times stalling and not even attempting to use the register or try to figure it out. When I told her I had an online return in the beginning she stared at me with a blank glaze and muttered that she was not a good person for this job. “I just don’t know how to do a return, I’ve never done one”. She then made excuses and kept slowly wiping my brand new glasses back and forth repeatedly over and over again. Losing my well worn patience I gently asked her to find someone who could help out. She hesitated and picked up her phone and began punching stuff in. Then returned to wiping my unworn unscratched brand new glasses back and forth again and than for another 5-10 minutes. I asked her to just call her supervisor she lied and told me she called her and left a message. But I was standing right there the whole time and all I saw her do was punch texts into a cellphone unsure of if she even texted her manager at this point and she was not only stalling my return and time but was obviously lying as well. I then asked her if a Macys manager could assist her. She then panicked a slight bit and grabbed a fragrance clerk to assist her. But refused manager. The Macy’s employee Mars was a delight and professional and promptly verified my time and proceeded to return my time. Once that employee left the sad and strange sunglasses hut employee continued to berate and make me uncomfortable continually asking me if there was anything else she could help me with. I replied no thanks I’m helping myself as I compared models on a pair of costas. She stood there refusing to assist or ask attempt to even make a single effort in a sale. I think she was definitely prejudice at this point. Recognizing her inappropriate and disrespectful behavior I told her to have a nice day and left. As I left I reported her to upper management of the Macys store who is going to discuss situation with her manager Portia. I truly hope this employee is fired because not only is she prejudice, rude, disrespectful, incompetent, slow, racist, unprofessional and lazy but in this hard economy I know several people who would love to have a part time retail job so it pains me to see such appalling behavior. Hire someone who will appreciate the job and do their job! Side note: I have videos of the encounter as proof and considering...
Read moreSo much for customer service. I purchased a dress shirt at Macy’s of Bellingham and never wore the shirt. It still had the tags on it and I also had the original receipt. The shirt was misplaced at my residence and found two years later. The shirt was still in its original packaging and still brand new. I attempted to return the shirt and was told “no” by the cashier and then the department manager. I asked again and was met with the same response. No explanation. Needless to say, I was shocked and angry. I left the shirt with them and exited the store never to return.
While sending the original 1 star review in the parking lot at Macy’s, the store manager (Barbara) approached my vehicle with the shirt I attempted to return. After a brief and civil discussion, Barbara asked me to come back inside and she would make an exception for the return. She advised me the store’s policy was a 30 day return window. I was surprised how short it was in today’s extremely competitive retail sales market. Not only did she refund me for the purchase, she added a $10 gift certificate for any future purchases.
I was completely caught off guard after my first encounter. I told Barbara I would be changing my review to 5 stars and thanked her profusely for going above and beyond.
I hope Macy’s recognizes Barbara for her excellent customer service. She went above and beyond and I’m...
Read moreThis is probably the best selection of high-end makeup beauty products and perfume that you're going to find without visiting an Ulta or sephora. Their makeup counters have exceptional service and make the high price worth while by letting you test the colors before you splurge. If you're not done up or wearing your nicest clothes they are definitely going to give you a side eye but they're not nearly as condescending or disrespectful about it as some other places I could mention like Kohl's. They did a much better job trailing behind us discreetly. Their clothes are ridiculously expensive and they have a pretty much non-existent selection for juniors or young adult style for women's unless you dress a bit older or like a teacher or something. As far as men's clothes go you can find a lot more age-friendly and casual selection. I really wish they had a higher selection of upscale purses I've had to go to Seattle or Spokane anytime I wanted a truly high class handbag because all you're going to get here is all of the price tag and none of the name brand. Staff was super friendly. Especially their...
