The store itself is okay, really expensive though compared to other stores. I only go here to look at their hotwheels collection time to time (which are very expensive btw $3+ tax compared to $1.29 anywhere else). My main concern in writing this review though is that they do seem to be more wary, rude and uncaring to people of color, Im very conservative so this isn’t a lib fit but when I started coming I (white) was by myself they were respectful and helpful to me, but once I started coming with my girlfriend (black) they don’t greet us, always catch them staring and following us around, push through us in the aisles when theres plenty of room, it’s not upright racist but you can get the hint, seems to happen with other people based on reviews here and other platforms. Going in by myself vs going with my girlfriend that’s a POC is a complete night and day difference in how the treatment is there, and I’ve gone a few times to test it out and they never fail to show the signs. So Im going to be avoiding this store from now on out of respect for my partner. You can get anything you want here down the way at Target for half the price (I know crazy considering it’s Target...
Read moreWent there today with my kids. The woman who I presume was the manager was very rude to me and my children. My son bought some cards and decided a few minutes after we left that he wanted different ones. He went to exchange them in their original packaging and she refused and purposely tried to make him feel stupid and ashamed. She did not tell him when he bought them about their policy on returns. I can understand the policy and just thought it might make sense to tell customers when they are purchasing these things. I tried to talk to her about it and she very rude and condescending to me. She said that the policy was written on the counter and that he should have read it. Also were trying to teach our 7 year old daughter about money and how to spend it and the same woman was very impatient and rude about this too. I typically go to Yeager’s Sporting goods and love their selection and staff. Wishes has a good selection but I will never shop...
Read moreToday around 3:30 on June 9th I had an experience at wishes where I noticed the employees called the police on a 10 year old girl of color for stealing. The little girl said she had put the toy in question down somewhere else. The employees found the toy in the store so she had not taken it. Additionally the family never left the store so the girl would never have even had the opportunity to walk away with it. The employees did not even stop to talk to the girls mom first and the mother was juggling 4 kids of different ages. Since they did not leave the store at any point the only way the employees would have noticed she was no longer holding the toy was if they were already following her around. The poor family was forced to leave which was devastating to all the children. Everyone in the store was very...
