Iāve never written a review for anything, but I think I sort of have to for this. I went to this salon quite a few times, seeing Rachel. Sheās super nice and my haircuts were always great, and the salon itself is super cozy and just a good vibe. But unfortunately itās become apparent that my hair is⦠quite damaged. I didnāt even realize how bad it was until I moved down to the cities and saw another stylist, and she was just in awe. All I would get done was a peekaboo style, where the underside of my hair is bleached. Iād get my roots touched up every few months or so, and that was it, I didnāt touch it at all on my own or at any other salon.
Something that I canāt hold against Rachel as it was my choice not to speak up, but I do think should be mentioned, was that every time I got my hair done by her my head would be burning. Iād leave and for the next week or so my scalp would scab over where the bleach was. Again, I chose not to speak up, I know I have sensitive skin so I thought it was maybe just the price of getting my hair done. But in getting my hair done by someone else and having it not even burn at all, I figured out it was not normal.
The main point of my review is that my hair is so fried thatāas shown by the picturesāitās broken off so badly that Iāve lost the length on nearly all the blonde hair. Iāve been trying to grow my hair out and I am going to have to cut nearly half a foot off of it to get it all to one length. I donāt know if this all happened after the last time she bleached my hair, or if itās been steadily happening, but she gave me no heads up that my hair was fried, nor did she try to warn me against bleaching it anymore. Every time I got my roots done she would run the bleach through the ends of my hair as well, which to me seems like the reason this happened.
I really wish I didnāt feel the need to leave this review, I definitely donāt enjoy leaving such a low review, but my hair has continued to break off even more. Iāve had to put money into getting my hair treated, and into a haircut to mask the damages so theyāre...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI typically dont write reviews if I am in the middle of the road with something. But I think this is worth the time so others know what to expect. I scheduled a appointment $80 down to hold appointment. Got there at 12:55 for my 1 pm appointment. By the time I sat down with Alice was around 1:25. She didn't start on my hair until 1:45. It was slow in there she did not have hair appointment ahead of me but something educational. That's what the receptionist stated. The receptionist was nice and apologized for the wait. While she was doing foils is when another employee came to talk to her about a client who was reaching out about their hair appointment and what she wanted. Alice and her I would say, were negatively talking about this woman right in front me. Employee came back on another occasion to talk. Basically those conversations could have waited. Alice clearly knew how to do foils but the interpersonal side not so much. She talked about a woman who she sees at the salon who, she said, should stop "procreating". I basically put my headphones in and listened to audible a good hour. She talked about herself a lot.. And unfortunately its just not what you want when you go to self care as a social worker. The first time she went to get the bleach mixed in the back took at least 20 minutes. Just a lot of back forth but the back room is kind of far away. Regardless time wasn't spent effectively. I actually had another employee help me because she was IDK where because I had to use the bathroom she clipped up my cover. I ended up leaving at 4:45. My hair turned out good. I wouldn't go back because frankly the experience was to negative for me. Or I would go to another person. I ended up paying $190 at the end and left a 20 dollar tip, because I didnt want to be a ass. So expect to pay 300 for foils but not experience. This was no haircut...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSalon has completely changed now that theyāve moved into a bigger place and NOT in a good way. Theyāve added a TON of new rules/policies and if theyāre not followed 110%, youāre disrespected, made to feel dumb, dropped as a client or told of a new rule/policy that you were never aware of. I understand/respect rules, but it comes to a point where thereās so many that it doesnāt feel like Iām at a hair salon anymore but a boot camp or something. Iām extremely anxious every time I come here because of the new atmosphere. This salon is also HORRIBLE on getting back to their clients about scheduling or other questions/concerns. Overall, not impressed with the new change. Unfortunately, businesses can either improve or worsen with expansions. This one has worsened Iām afraid. I have been seeing the owner Calyn for years, I used to like her a lot and think she was super nice. Now, I donāt really know who she is anymore unfortunately since sheās negatively changed. With all of that being said, I will not be coming here anymore. I wish this place all but the best but I would NOT recommend, especially if youāre looking for a stress...
