I myself being an African american male experienced racial profiling just yesterday, 11/24/2017 at the Benton Harbor store. I went there to purchase a firearm last week during a Sunday and Monday sale. I got bad vibes soon as I came in, like i was being watched for stealing. So i make it to the back where the guns were, told them i wanted to purchase a gun and their facial expressions told it all. Very rude customer service!!! I had to wait to buy the gun because the FBI had me under review. Called them back yesterday and they said the FBI cleared me to purchase. Well, me and my wife get there and again,bad customer service, didn't even get acknowledge until after the white customers were helped. Had to sign more paper work and the lady told me to take the UPC paper to the front to purchase it while she completes the paper work. she also told me to give her a call if the price rings up wrong, because i had asked her the week before if i will still get the same price after waiting for the FBI. She agreed the price was locked in but when we got to the counter the price was the regular price. Keep in mind, me and my wife waited over an hour. I asked the cashier to call to the gun counter because the price was indeed wrong. She goes to say that was the right price, and without the cut out from the paper to prove it i will have to pay the regular price. Then i asked to see the manager, she would not even come out to see us, insteed she told the cashier to tell us to come back tommorrow. I told the cashier we have been here over an hour already and would like to see the manager to solve the issue now. Out the blue, here comes the Manager Rachel yelling and telling us to leave for cussing out the cashier. We did not cuss one time nor was loud, even asked the cashier when did we cuss her out and she said “i dont know”. Rachel ended up calling the cops, and we were told to leave and if we come back we will go to jail. I have filed with the Better Business, and contacted Dan myself whom stated he will look into it. Found the flyer, they wanted to charge me $304.00 for the RM380.

To whom it my concern,
I am very disappointed with the customer service at the Benton Harbor, Michigan Dunham's location tonight (17th Dec, 2019) . I went in to purchase a few items for my son and I. One of the items, wrestling knee pads, would not scan. The two cashier's tried for a while. After being unable to scan it, they finally called for a manager. The manager work for awhile at trying to scan it. She moved to two other registers trying to get it to scan. After being in successful she finally started looking it up manually. All of this taking mine and my son's time. The price tag on the item was clearly visible. After multiple minutes had passed I finally asked if she could enter an override for the price so we could get going. To which she responded "NO I have to do this now. I have to take care of inventory." I am sure the inventory is not that accurate. I then responded with, "I think you could over ride and correct inventory later". To which she reponded in a very short abrasive tone, "No I have to do it now." She never responded, "I am sorry this is taking I am sure this is frustrating." Very disappointing!! The manager in question is a shorter black haired lady. We were there little bit after 8. Store was closed to empty. She needs training in how to handle people in stressful situations. Having skills in empathy is key in turning a bad situation into a less stressful situation or even a positive experience for everyone. Feel free to contact me if there are any questions.
