They have a really big problem with racially profiling their customers. I've personally been profiled on more than 4 different occasions. I have complained to management and to head quarters with no real results. I got an apology and a $25 gift card, but it still continues. I went in the store on 8/9 @ 9am to exchange and item. After letting Ariana know, she proceeded to walk me to the aisle. I let her know I knew where to find the product but she remained silent and walked me back. Once at the aisle, she stood over me making me feel very uncomfortable. I let her know I didn't need help finding the item but she continued hovering. I felt so uncomfortable, I gave her the item I wanted to exchange and the new item (she had both items in her hands). She continued standing there until I asked was she going to follow me also while I shopped. (I had let her know more than 4 times I didn't need her help) She left after I made the comment. When I got to the register, I let her know that it wasn't ok what she did. After refunding me for the item, I was so angry, I left without paying for the new item. When I got home, I realized I didn't pay for the new item. I called the store to let them know what happened and I returned to pay for the item. (Because I'm no thief) I'm a long time Michael's customer and I shouldn't feel uncomfortable when I'm shopping in the store. This is just one incident, I have been followed (employee was in next aisle) all the way to the register after being given a product.

Read moreTammy the manager at this store, treated me terribly yesterday. I noticed online an item I was looking for was available at her store in Berlin so I drove there from Glastonbury. When I arrived she was in front of the store with a staff member talking. I asked her if she worked there and she said yes. I showed her my phone with the item I was looking for. She took a glance and said "Oh No we don't have it ". I told her I could see online they had one, she responded oh No we dont. I said ok and as I walked away she said "whatever the website says it doesnt matter and then she LAUGHED!" I turned around and I asked her what was so funny. She said look honey, we are all having a good time here. I understood she preferred to continue having a good time instead of attending to a customer but on top of that she laughed at me for trusting the website. I proceeded to ask for her name and to talk to the manager because I found it insulting the way she treated me. She said I AM the manager and denied laughing. A real manager would have actually checked or a staff member to assist, offer me to go online and make the purchase. Easy 101 management skills this lady lacks. However due to the holiday, traveling, I made it 7 business days, including xmas day, which they were closed. Today when I went to pick up, I was told the order cancelled, and I would not be honored the same price. apparently not even the manager has the authority to make a customer happy, for an honest mistake. I called customer service, and was told they would have me submit a new order and call back for them to price match my original order. after placing a second order, I call back and find customer service rep, Moira, who tells me she cant reduce it completely but only by a little, and not honor the same exact coupons that were applied to my original order. after I complain, she puts me through to a senior rep who I sit waiting to answer for 6 minutes and no one answers.
