Newington Fair Shopping Center — Local services in Newington

11/12/24- I went to Sam’s Club, then I went next door to Stew Leonard's. There are other shops in the area but I spent most of my time at Stew Leonard’s because I’m from Indiana and we don’t have this store out there. Sam’s Club offers bulk supplies for all your household, groceries and family needs. The Café offers pizza or hot dog combos as well as individual snacks to stay or to go.

Stew Leonard’s was a great experience. It has a variety of grocery areas to shop from dairy, produce, meats, candy section and if you’re hungry they have a huge cafeteria with plenty to choose to satisfy your hunger.

They had home style, Asian, soups, salads and many other dishes sold by the pound or in a combo. They have their own pizza store where they bake your pie while you shop. The customer service is good if you ask for help.

If you’re new or visiting this is a stop you do not want to miss. I can guarantee you will find something you don’t...

This shopping center seems a bit worn out, and too spread out. There is a lot of unnecessary parking. There are a few big stores in the place, but overall, there is entirely too much space taken up by this location.

A much better use of the space would be if there were a mix of smaller shops and some office space, but alas, I am not the property developer in charge of redevelopment.

It is easy enough to access the center as it is right of the Berlin Turnpike and has its own intersection.

I'm supposing that the land that hosts this plaza used to be where the town fair was held. Let's be honest: it would be better to still have that amusement than the current...

Very sad to see that Stew's has moved to the self checkout model. I mentioned that to one of the manager's and he told me the employee's were not happy about it either and when they brought it up to Stew himself Stew told them that was the direction the world was going. That is really sad to hear. I always had the impression that Stew's tried to think outside the box, and provided outstanding customer service but this is a move in the wrong direction in my opinion. Stew's has never been the cheapest place to shop but I didn't mind as the customer service is always wonderful but since that isn't the case then I may as well check and bag my stuff at Walmart as...
