North Country Bowling Center — Local services in Berlin

My family and I recently lost our mother due to cancer and after her celebration of life, we decided to go out and we stumbled across this bowling alley/ bar. The owner, Ed was so gracious. He really made us all feel so welcomed; especially for going through such a heavy and sad time. He even let us display our mothers memory card on the shelf behind the counter. She was such an amazing woman and would have loved to be there with us while we made those memories in her honor. Not only did he welcome us with opened arms, but he put up with us and our crazy personalities haha. The bowling alley its self is definitely old scool and I loved it. Paper score chart, the fun lights, music, bar, food and clean! My family and I had a few drinks, we bowled and were having a blast and I'm sure we were extremely rambunctious but let loose for a little while. It was more than needed and I couldnt imagine having a better experience anywhere else. I cannot Thank Ed enough for going the extra mile for us 4. Our group of 7 people went to this bowling alley, upon entry, you noticed that the facility hasn't been renovated for a long time. Sometimes lack of renovation can add character, however this time it didn't...no alcohol was served (under age worker?) the ball return didn't work and neither did the staff. We had to retrieve our balls from the catch basin while the bowling attendant watched us......you would think the risk of people paying money to play would not be allowed to do this. We only played one game and left.....never again will this bowling alley be...

I went there to play darts and a group of people came in that had never played before and they were watching for a little bit so I let them try my darts. Didn't do bad but they had never played before so they were impressed how most of us played. By the time we were done playing I saw them over there bowling so I went over and watched. They were all welcoming and I had a blast. So if you're bored and you want to bowl or play darts head down to the bowling alley. The bartenders are great, drinks are reasonable and everybody in there...
