If you are looking for a generic make your own burrito style take out place this ain't it. Everything about Exile Burrito is one step above what you would expect. From the cleanliness and festive atmosphere of the establishment to the simply amazing food, everything was top notch.

The staff was not only friendly, they were engaging. I went in with my kiddos and they addressed them personally when making their meals. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal but the kids even mentioned afterwards how cool it was that they treated them like people 'not just kids.' They burrito prep person and the cashier were both patient and personable. At no point during our order did I feel like just another customer in the line.

As far as the food is concerned, it is nothing to wag your finger at. It is hard to stand out in the make-your-own-burrito market but Exile managed it. We ordered the pork, chicken, and veggie burritos and I would be hard pressed to tell you which was better. The rice was cooked perfect, veggies crisp and fresh. Their salsa options were exceptionally flavorful (talking to you here mango salsa) and truly ran the gambit from mild to spicy.

Perfectly located in the center of town and the middle of the hiking region Exile Burrito is the perfect refuel stop for the avid adventuring family. Just make sure you have an appetite as they skimp on...

Berlin has so much potential to be a more happening and prosperous little city by the mountains; an Aspen of sorts. To me, Exile Burrito exemplifies that very potential.

I make it my mission to visit Exile Burrito every time I visit the Gorham / Berlin area. As someone who has been grateful to have access to rice, beans and chicken in what is otherwise a food desert, I give Exile’s food my endorsement. Specifically, I have always purchased the burrito bowl at this establishment. The chicken is seasoned to personal expectations, and the black beans and cilantro rice compliment that protein well. When accompanied with guacamole and pico de gallo, you have one fresh, fulfilling and nutritious meal to finish off the rest of your day.

What other existing restaurant in this area will sell you quality protein, starches, fiber and fats on a single plate, fulfilling your nutritional needs? Aside from your own kitchen or motel refrigerator, you will be hard-pressed to locate these things elsewhere, as in ready-to-eat, throughout this entire region. This fact alone makes this particular restaurant special. This is especially of great consideration if you are a weightlifter.

Adam, the man who owns this business, is also very friendly and personable. He too sees the same potential of Berlin that I have expressed. He is a...

Wanted to get a quick lunch while on the way to the White Mountains. We called ahead and they said they weren't busy so we stopped in. Ordering is Chipotle-style where you pick either a burrito/bowl/taco which they assemble in front of you, so we thought it would be simpler to order in-person. There was only one person working on preparing orders though, which really slowed down the process. Also, they prepared one of our items and then started working on a phone order while we waited for our second item. Meanwhile, our first item was lying there in front of the cashier, getting cold. The phone order was actually two items so we had a long wait before we could finish billing and get our food. This seemed kind of inefficient and a bit unfair.

The food was not bad for fast-casual. They have more topping options than Chipotle and everything was decent. Portions were good-sized; got a burrito bowl and had enough left over for lunch the next day. We also ordered the tot-chos (tater tots with sour cream, cheese, and guac) which they forgot about so had to wait even more; these weren't all that great - maybe would be better with some more toppings. Overall, not a bad stop for lunch if it was...

Updating again! I CONTINUE to LOVE my burritos from here. Burrito bowls are great, too. Basically, I haven't gone wrong with anything yet. My burrito makes my Arizona 23oz can look small. Mmmm... Updating: I've gotten takeout many times now and continue to love my burrito! Consistently good, big, and delicious! Oddly, I've never bothered to try with ground beef. Lol. I finally got the chance to try Exile. Sadly, they were out of ground beef but I tried the chicken. I truly enjoyed my burrito. Love that I could put what I wanted in my burrito. It was delicious. I would have loved some refried beans but the brown rice worked just fine. So excited that I'll be able to get my Mexican food fix without driving 45+ minutes. Staff was super friendly went I went in for my pickup. The makeover of the space was nice, also.

Criticism: SALT is MISSING. The other reviews mentioned lack of seasoning / bland flavor and this is a huge problem. The staff mentioned that the owner wasn’t there to make the margarita and that they’d give it a try, it was terrible. I threw out the whole thing because it tasted completely fake. If the meats/rice/guacamole was salted, it would take the food from boring to extremely delicious. The good: everything else was good, the vibe, the concept, the staff, the mountain of food, all great. This saved the food from getting 2 stars due to lack of salt. Seriously. Salt the food.

I was passing through Berlin and stopped here for lunch. They told me that this was only their second week open after reopening. They focused mostly on burgers, but that was fine with me. I said I thought it was brilliant that they don't actually sell burritos, and that they should keep the name. It was one of the best burgers I've had in quite a long time. If I'm ever in Berlin again, there's no doubt where I'll be having lunch.
