I had nurse come to house yesterday. She recommended me getting another CT scan so here I am. I still feel guilty putting myself ahead of my kids but i know I gotta do it if I wanna see them graduate. Prayers!! #fairfieldmedicalcenter #hospital #healthcare #takingcareofme#godisgood

I had a c section here that was such a scary experience because I had an on call dr due to my ob being out, my water broke and I was 5cm dilated and it took them 2 hours to get me back for my c section, which during I was never told what was happening I had to keep asking “what’s going on” and no one talked to me like didn’t saying anything but the anesthesia guy said “their still cutting” when she was out no one told us and I was never shown her she and when I finally had my “what’s happening now” question I was finally told by the anesthesiologist said “oh she’s already out” and I was freaking out obviously because no one’s talking to me and I wasn’t even aware she was out, I kept asking what time it was excited to know when she was born and no one could tell me the only person who ever spoke to me was the anesthesiologist who said he wasn’t sure what time she was taken out, they finally took my husband over to her and she was doing just fine a nurse 25 minutes later finally showed me a picture of her I still hadn’t seen her and then told me what time she was born, I felt super under communicated with and never knew what was going on I had by baby at 12:06am after going in at 9:50pm and got into my c section at 11:40pm I wasn’t given my baby or saw her for the first time till 1:45am even after being in my room with her. Finally 4 months later today i’ve been having so many bills thrown at me and not being sent to both my insurances and when I called their billing agency she was extremely rude and wouldn’t answer any of my questions just saying “i don’t know what to tell you” “then you can go to your insurance” “just call again in 14 days and speak to someone else” and I stayed so calm and tried to explain to her what my insurance said to tell her and she said “and?” and then when she told me about a remaining balance on my baby’s account and I told her I was trying to pay that but it wouldn’t let me she cut me off and said “just let me talk okay” and then said “actually i’m going to put you on hold” and put me on hold for 7 minutes to come back and go “are we ready for this now?” I kept trying to explain to her about what the insurances issue was she started to only say “insurance is pending call in 14 days” and every question I asked she repeated that same phrase and when I said “i’m just super confused on why the statements aren’t showing up on my insurance she chuckled. I asked her what her name was again and she said “call someone in 14 days” and hung up on me while I was saying “I want to pay that one account payment though” I am extremely unimpressed with their customer service now don’t get it wrong i’ve talked to extremely helpful and calm representatives but the one I spoke to today was extremely rude from the start super unprovoked. And the staff is just very short on communication as well while I was there after my birth I was never seen with a lactation dr until I had to come back 2 days after being sent home and just as a first time mom never really informed about what was going on or anything they put her on me to feed at 1:45am and after that feeding that was the first and last one I was assisted on and was left to do it all on my own which as someone who’s never breastfed and is all doing this for the first time super unaware it caused my baby to loose weight at first being I had no helped which lead to when she was 6 days old going in constantly for lactation help and formula supplement. This is the only hospital i’ve used and because of that it’s where I feel most comfortable but also has made me seen all their flaws with patients and communication which makes me second guess my returning as a patient for me or...

This past Sunday evening (July 8th, 2018) I went into the ER with horrible gallbladder pains. I was sweating, vomiting, (I had have prior kidney stones and it was that bad!). I waited in the ER, when I went into triage the nurse was very rude with me. Let me tell you a little about me because this is important, I have very blue hair and lots of piercings and tattoos. After getting questioned, and telling them I had 10/10 pain in my abdominal area where my gallbladder is located, I was sent back into the waiting room. I sat, sweated and cried. I was then put in a wheelchair and put back into a triage room where they told me I would be getting an IV put in. No IV was put in and I was finally told I have a room ready for me. I was very out of it and crying in pain. The nurse stops me at the bathroom, leaves me to get a urine sample cup. I fold over in pain and lean on a bedside table to keep from falling. A man (I have no idea who he was) grabbed me by my arm and said "This woman needs help!" My nurse comes back to us and says "No, she's fine" and I replied "NO! I'M NOT FINE! I'M IN PAIN!" She pushes me into the bathroom as I try to ask her why they were asking me such weird questions in triage. She tells me they ask everyone those questions now. I give my urine sample and am put into a room. I am lying on a bed for over an hour. During that time 3 people entered the room asking if I gave a urine sample. Not one person asked me how I was, if I was okay, or to give me an IV or pain medicine. After an hour I was so mad! I had a nurse come in the room and I told her that my urine is clean, I am not a drug user, PLEASE, GET ME HELP! I AM IN PAIN! Two minutes later they come in to give me an IV. I finally get a scan done. They tell me I have no gallstones, they are sending me home. I was so angry, I left before they could sign me out. Today is Tuesday (Monday I felt so sick I couldn't get out of bed only to use the bathroom). I went to my family Doctor. He saw on the scan that I have swollen lymph nodes in my chest and infected polyps in my lungs. He also ordered another (better) scan of my gallbladder. The focus on my gallbladder is important because I had gastric bypass a year ago. So now I am on antibiotics and will have a better scan done. They said nothing of this at the ER. This is not the first time I have been treated horrible in the ER at FMC. But this was the straw that broke the camels back. I am NOT going to let anyone judge me because of my appearance. I don't care how I look, just treat me because I am sick! This is appalling and no matter what pain I am in, I am driving further out to get better treatment!

UPDATE: It's August 8th, I had to have my gallbladder removed a week after this happened!!!

And I did call, and came in. I was just apologized to over the phone....

My sister Rebecca was recently a patient there. 48 hours before she died, unexpectedly we received a call from her. She said she couldn’t breathe. She said she called for the nurse but they weren’t listening. She was gasping for breath. I frantically called the 5th floor nurses station. Kate answered the phone. I told her that my sister was panicking and could not breathe. What happened next was absolutely astonishing. Never in your wildest dream would you ever expect to hear this. She told me she and staff were very aware of her issues. She was constantly on the call light she told me. She paged “respiratory therapy “ and they were on their way. So very cold and uncaring. I asked her if anyone was with her and she told me no, again, like I was an idiot, “I told you respiratory is on their way.” I screamed at her to get someone in there now! A caring hand! Reassurance someone was on their way to help! All I got was put on hold and someone else on the line to “deal with me”. Apparently Kate thought I was being difficult. Angela answered, she was given the task of “dealing with me”. She tried, but after Kate, I’m afraid that was a lost cause. I hung up and my niece was on her away. I live 4 hours away. Respiratory therapy arrived and gave her a breathing treatment. It didn’t help. After the 2nd or 3rd treatment, my sister’s daughter was concerned. The therapist whispered to her not to give up, to be her advocate. Finally after many hours the nurse “Stacey” decided to pick up and take notice. She was so uncaring. My niece put her on speaker so I could hear. Pathetic, she should never be allowed to care for patients. My sister died shortly after. The most amazing nurse was there when I arrived the next evening. Her name was Hannah. She was diligent and kind. I asked if she could put me in contact with someone I could speak to about my experience. She entered the referral and I have never received a call. My sweet sister has been gone a little over a week now. To Fairfield Medical Center, DO NOT bother pasting your generic message after my post giving me a number to call. YOU have mine and have not been...
