We traveled all the way from Florida to Ohio for an event and made the hour long trip from our hotel to revisit a piece of history & a piece of my childhood. Growing up with Rax in MN during my younger years I had no problem making the trip to one of the last 5 remaining Rax in the world…..And YES it was Worth it! From an Outsiders Eyes it may look like an old 90’s Fast Food Joint but it was Exactly as I remember it (minus the Endless Salad Bar and a few other things). But it was still Rax…and our meal was delicious (better than the competition which happens to be one of my second Food Groups). We did venture there a few years ago but I was truly impressed this recent visit due to the combination of their Excellent Customer Service (the gentleman behind the counter was both quick & friendly) and the food was Hot, Fresh & Delicious!!!! I truly hope they stick around as not only was it a delicious meal but a trip back to my childhood. It ended up being a great meal in a clean dining room with great service and a personal visit to my younger days growing up dining at Rax regularly. The “atmosphere/facade” may not be what it was back in the heyday of RAX but if you’re a diehard RAX aficionado then I definitely recommend that you make the trip to grab one last delicious bite of the Nostalgia before it’s possibly...

I had read that this was one of the last remaining locations of Rax and was interested to see what it was all about. We are from Texas and I had never heard of the chain before but I’m always down to check out eateries with stories. I’d say the good reviews are definitely based in nostalgia and not reality. The building looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it’s opening in the 80s. The employees seemed generally unpleasant but that’s not too unheard of for many places these days. Now to the important part, the food. Essentially this was Arby’s and tasted on par for the comparison. The difference is that I personally think that Arby’s sauce is what makes an Arby’s sandwich and being that Rax sauce was simply BBQ sauce I’d rate Arby’s a notch above. After we ate at Rax I got a mild stomach bug. Maybe it was a coincidence since we’re traveling but the timing aligns. In summary if you’re going for nostalgia I highly recommend as I could see you being taken back in time with the building but if you’re going for good food,...

RAX IS MY FAVORITE FAST FOOD, THEY NEED TO OPEN ONE IN 43123 AND/OR 43223 ZIP CODE, I'VE EATEN THERE SINCE I WAS A KID, 50 YRS AGO. MY FAVORITE MEAL WAS ALWAYS BBC COMBO W/REG. 🍟 or THE BROCCOLI CHEESE BAKED POTATO, SIDE CUP OF BBC CHEESE SAUCE AND A CHOCOLATE CHIP SHAKE W/EXTRA WHIPPED CREAM (NOT SURE IF I COULD EAT THAT MUCH NOWADAYS, I'D BE FULL AFTER THE BBC, LOLOLOL.) NOONE CAN BEAT THIS SANDWICH IN MY MIND. EVEN THE BUN IS GOOD W/THE CORN MEAL ON IT. JUST SAD I HAVEN'T EATEN IT IN PROBABLY 10 YEARS BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE CLISE BY. EVEN THE ONE WHILE TRAVELING TO MY IN LAWS JUST CLOSED DOWN A COUPLE YEARS AGO (BELLEFONTAINE/ LIBERTY OHIO AREA???) I'M NOT WRITING A REVIEW FOR THE EAST MAIN ST. LOCATION, BUT NOW THAT I KNOW THERE'S ONE WITHIN 20 MINS. FROM ME, I'M GONNA HAVE TO MAKE A SPECIAL TRIP THERE...

A lots changed in over a decade since they shut down most of the rax locations. I traveled in hopes that the food would come close to what I remembered as a kid. The roast beef was just like I remembered it but they've changed their signature bbq sauce to some generic packet brand. To me the bbq was what made their roast beef perfect. The fries were really good but they type they serve now also slightly differs from the thick cut fries I remember. As far as the interior of the restaurant it's basically just like I remember it. It hasn't aged well though. The same carpet that was put in eons ago is definatly still there and the building is in pretty bad disrepair. If you're in the area I would recommend giving it a shot but honestly it's not worth an out of the way trip.

I had seen the videos of this place's advertising strategies in its heyday years before I was born. Naturally, I had to see what it's about. I don't think the inside has changed one bit from those days, apart from no longer having the endless salad bar (RIP). This gave it a unique charm that cannot be replicated. Even the lack of background music enhanced my experience. The two employees working there were friendly and had a great demeanor. The Rax was quite plain compared to Arby's, however I found their twisty fries to taste much better than curly fries. I liked how they gave some pizzazz by making onion petals and not onion rings.
