WATCH OUT FOR THE POOL POLICE!!!!
The pool lifeguards or supervisors are not friendly at all. And one male adult is very very very rude. I witnessed 2 parents with 3 of their toddlers get kicked out of the jacuzzi spa because their children weren't 4 yrs old yet. The way it was handled was really un kind and not how you think you would be treated being a paying member at an upscale rec center.
Then just today I take my daughter into the spa jacuzzi with me along with a floating noodle they had available and open in a cart next to the pool. I thought since they were out they were available to everyone. Not even 5 min in... same lifeguard comes up and starts telling my husband and I that my daughter can't be in the spa. I say she's 4, he says she has to be 6!!! And it's in the written rules ... furthermore "put that noodle back where you got it!"
Wow! First of all the spa jacuzzi isn't hot. It's Luke warm so it's not at dangerously high temperatures for children. 2nd, she was with me and her father, we were holding her. Why is it such a big deal for her to be in there when we are obviously holding and supervising her. It's a ridiculous rule considering most people who attend the pool are families attending their small children. So we are paying a monthly fee to have access to something we can't enjoy? I have never seen any rec center, swim park, or hotel hard ridiculous rules like this. Maybe canceling our membership if this doesn't get changed. And I certainly don't think they should be employing rude dominate pool supervisors...
Read moreGoing with 1 star because I REALLY like the facility but there are issues that make it unusable. First I was about to get a membership, and my friend already got hers as we were going to work out together. When it first opened almost all of the group fitness was free. That's WHY were joining. Every month they "update" the schedule, change the class name, and add a charge for it!! My friend feels really duped because they had all classes included with membership and now they are almost all an extra $35 for 6 weeks on TOP of the membership?? What is that? It's false advertising. You get a bunch of memberships for the group fitness and then start charging for them! Aqua fitness WAS included, but is now called "deep water aerobics" and is an extra fee. I could do $65 a month, but now $100 a month?? Nope. I can't even get a membership now. On top of that the kids area is FREEZING. It should be a comfortable temp for kids, and when the water features are turned on there is almost no where "safe" to be without water pouring on top of you. I can't really sit anywhere with my baby in the pool because water is dumping over you everywhere in the kids section. I'm really bummed out. I was so very excited for this place to open and it's not even worth it to go. And I feel like what they did to people who were members already is really wrong. My friend is trying to cancel her membership. Neither if us can afford $100 a month for a gym. They need...
Read moreIt is a beautiful space and I also really liked the gentleness of the chemical treatment for the water. But there are 3 aspects of the lap swimming pool that I think are weird, and for lap swimming actually dangerous (!). Here is the really bad one in my opinion: Where the stairs come into the lane on the N side of the pool, there is a sharp 90 degree angle underwater and about a body length away from the wall. Particularly for anyone doing flip turns and sharing the lane (so over to that side more) there is the real possibility of pushing off the wall right into that angle. It could literally crack someone´s skull. It would have to be a badly executed flip turn for sure, but it could happen especially if someone is learning, tired, or just careless. For the second, the lane with the climbing wall above it. Why on earth would they design a part of the climbing wall extending over the lane? It seems like a swimmer could hit their hands on it if not careful and it also seems like it would be hazardous for anyone climbing on the wall. The last one is probably not that much of a concern except possibly for the very tall, but the shallow end is very shallow. I am short so it´s not a big deal but if I were over 6' tall I think I would be concerned about my flip turns. So ... lovely pool but I don't think it was designed by serious swimmers or with input from any serious swimmers !...
