My vehicle needed a battery replacement and I came back to my hometown NAPA after being quoted a ridiculous price by a shop in Longmont (AAMCO). $519 to purchase and install a battery?! Get outta here! A quick call to Berthoud NAPA confirmed that they had the battery I needed and that $519 was a racket.
I realize full well that NAPA is a parts store and not a mechanic shop. That being said, I was helped quickly, kindly, and professionally to purchase the battery I needed (at a fair price). Furthermore, Joe took the time to come out to my vehicle in the parking lot and install the new battery. No fuss, no extra charge. Wow! I also find it noteworthy to mention that they were busy with many clients and even had a rude one on the phone. Unfazed, Joe got the job done and went the extra mile to help me get the battery in my car and make sure it started. They didn’t have to do that, but they did. This kind of service doesn’t exist most places anymore.
My family has been around Berthoud for a while (a few generations, no biggie) and NAPA has always been our go-to. Today I learned why; it’s worth a bit of a longer drive to get honest, fair, straightforward, and above-and-beyond help. Yesterday, I visited the NAPA store in Berthoud to pick up an alternator, excited to get my vehicle ready before heading out of town. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the wrong part had been ordered—a starter instead of the alternator I needed. On top of that, it wasn’t even the same brand I had requested. Naturally, I was frustrated.
That’s when Joe stepped in. Although he wasn’t the person who placed the original order (and I’ll leave that individual unnamed), Joe took ownership of the situation. He quickly located the correct part, which, to my surprise, was actually available in the store. Joe’s professionalism, problem-solving, and calm demeanor turned the experience around completely.

Read moreI've been to Napa Auto parts in central New York and in the front range in Colorado and they consistently give me that small town service I like but with the benefits that come with dealing with a national brand. I honestly didn't know until I left New York, that they were a multi-state outfit. I tell people when they ask me about Napa brand parts I give them MY opinion. Napa's aftermarket parts might cost a little bit more than other people's brands but I will trust Napa brand parts over OEM parts any day.
