Christian Brothers Automotive Berthoud — Local services in Berthoud

First time to CBA. We usually go to a different local shop that we've been going to for the past 7 years, however, in a pinch they weren't able to get us in for another week and we had an urgent vehicle need so I looked around. We lile being faithful to the auto shop that's been good to us and it's hard to find a shop to trust that provides good and honest services. CBA was great. They were able to get us in right away and did a lot of work in a fairly short amount of time. They did 6 services and 1 major repair in less than 48hrs! The price was fair given the amount of work and it didn't vary greatly from the original estimate. It increased by about $400, after the initial estimate. That is a lot, but it was a lot of work and we anticipated it may go up by some. They did call ahead of time to give us the increased estimate price after getting into the engine. They have a courtesy car to give you a ride home, it was clean and the driver was very nice. If you're waiting there's a comfy seating area, reading material, a nicely stocked mini fridge with a variety of drinks and also some snacks. There's also an old school arcade game with different game options, Mrs. Pacman, Galactica, etc. If I had a quarter I would have played! 😊 They should give you a couple free plays if you're waiting. At least if you have a kiddo with you, because who carries around quarters anymore. Bathrooms were clean! Yay! That's always a huge plus. From the online appointment, to the daily communication and pick up arrangement, everything was great from start to finish. Took a new to us work truck that was meticulously maintained by the previous owner (were shown records) in to Christian brothers for a tire alignment. They did an inspection and told us our break pads were only 3 mm thick and needed to be replaced and that our front suspension was shot and needed to be replaced, and in it's current condition the vehicle was not safe to drive. They had pictures supposedly of our truck in their report they gave and said they could do all the work for $5,000. Luckily I always shop around for prices and one of my employees' husbands is a diesel mechanic that works for Larimer county. He looked at the vehicle and said the break pads measured in the good range and no work needed to be done on the suspension and the truck was in great shape. We then took it to Firestone in Loveland for a 3rd opinion and they measured the break pads at 8mm in the front and 7 mm in the back (I had them show me and have it documented in their report), which were measurements in the good range meaning they didn't need replacement for quite some time. They looked at the suspension and said the truck was in great shape, but recommended a tire alignment (ironically the only reason we took it to Christian Bros. In the first place). I'm not sure what scam Christian brothers is pulling or if they mixed up our truck (a pretty distinct work truck) up with another, but make sure to get multiple opinions before you spend thousands of dollars here for work that doesn't need to be done on...

Whenever I can I try to support local businesses. That's why I recently took my vehicle to Berthoud Christian Brothers Automotive (BCBA) for some repair work. The moment I walked through the door I knew this was a first class operation run by the owner Chris T. The automotive shop, lobby, waiting area, & restroom were the cleanest I've ever seen for this type of business thereby demonstrating a great deal of organizational pride. After technician Dylan C. completed the courtesy inspection it confirmed the repairs I knew my vehicle needed (new front brake pads & rotors, a brake flush, a new drive belt, & a battery terminal service to clean some corrosion). BCBA quoted me a very fair price for these repairs which included a cost free alignment check. The BCBA mechanics did a great job completing this repair work in a timely manner & I was able to pick up my vehicle the same day. The repair work was so thorough they also discovered a loose drain plug they snugged back down & cleaned which undoubtedly saved me some future problems. The BCBA Team is top notch especially service advisor Bob F. who provided me with excellent customer service by keeping me updated, thoroughly answering my questions, & addressing related concerns regarding my vehicle.
