Was with Berthoud Drug for 8 years when went to pick up a prescription I had ordered online. Prescription was ready but I was told I would have to pay in cash because Berthoud Drug was not renewing its contract with Blue Cross. No advance notice...and this was February. The pharmacist was, I thought, rude and unprofessional for someone who works with public. It IS possible to find professionals with pleasant personalities AND skill. So I transferred my prescriptions to Sam's Club. 2 months later it's time to refill my prescription, but when Sam's Club contacts my doctor the doctor says that Berthoud drug has already called in for a new prescription...AFTER I had changed all my prescriptions to Sam's. Now, Berthoud drug just sent me a letter saying that they have decided to sign a new contract with Blue Cross. No apologies for inconvenience or anything. ** the owner of Berthoud drug answered my review posted above. I don't like adversity, so FYI, maybe the letter saying that Berthoud Drug had finally signed a contract with Blue Cross in March did come from Blue Cross. But then, Berthoud drug never did notify me that I could once again have my insurance covered drugs filled at their facility. I can only assume they didn't need me. And also FYI since Berthoud drug had requested a refill from my doctor ( even though the script had been transferred to Sam's Club), the doctor would not prescribe another refill for Sam's Club. I had to get the prescription through Berthoud Drug. And that was okay since they now honored my Blue Cross Insurance. But is this insurance contract non-signing going to happen in 2026 again? I really like the owners of Berthoud drug. Since they have moved their new location, however, and the town has grown considerably, their new pharmacist has just not carried through with the friendliness we had come to expect.    Read moreI switched my prescription to home delivery because of the inept pharmacist employees that work there. Tom is wonderful and always helpful, however, Josh the owner is never there. Somehow, they took one of my prescriptions and decided to fill it when I had it switched to home delivery. My insurance company told me to tell them to return it to stock and reverse my insurance so that they could fill it for me. I got a message saying they âjust did thatâ, and I found out that, that wasnât the case. They didnât reverse it and I had to have several calls to correct what they messed up. Carl is definitely missed because he actually cared and went above and beyond. These people only want your birth date or prescription number. Not what it used to be. And Iâm not going back. I hope youâre reading this Josh. Truly disappointing.

In talking with both home delivery and my insurance, the reversal was NOT done correctly. But thanks for trying to say that it was. It doesnât take away from me having to wait for 9 days because of her inadequacies in doing her job correctly. After many years of going to Berthoud Drug and having Carl fill my prescriptions correctly, I am no longer satisfied with the way you run your pharmacy.    Read moreI used to love Berthoud Drug. I will never go back after a month of trying to resolve a medication for which they gave me the wrong dosage. When I tried to contact them, they kept saying it was the same. If the dosage on a filled prescription is different than the dosage on the written prescription from a doctor, they are not the same. In addition, they stopped delivery services with no notification. For people who are disabled or unable to get to the pharmacy, this is a huge let down. There are many pharmacy providers that will fill prescriptions as written and not charge you for their mistakes. I am still waiting for a refund for a drug I paid double for.
