I was next door having breakfast and saw the wedding dress advertisement in the window. It took me 7 years to part with my beautiful wedding dress from Kleinfeld. I wanted to preserve it and it seemed like the right time. They have a full service for $250 through a reputable company. I lamented and dropped off my beautiful dress. Somethingsaid take pictures in case anything happens. So I took pictures of my dress in the store. The lady looked at my dress and complimented me on the craftsmanship and beauty. Everyone in the store did as well. I felt good and left the store. The dress was shipped to my home. It arrived and I missed the dress stayed home all day on a Saturday to wait for redelivery. It came and I was elated! I opened the box and I screamed. My worst nightmare came true. It was not my dress. I couldn't believe it! I thought the old bait and switch...I ran to the store. The lady was with a customer. Tears were screaming down my face. She ignored me continued with her customer and finally came over. I waited and told her that was not my dress. She told me to calm down and she gave me her number and told me she would call me Monday since the place is not open on Saturday's. I left the other person's dress and went home praying this was a bad dream. I was devastated and lacked hope. I emailed the company and left a message. The lady called me and told me she found my dress and they would re-mail it. A person from the company contacted me and told me the store had made a mistake and switched the dresses on-site. My dress went to Redding and the other brides dress went to me. I am only giving this establishment a 2 because I retrieved my dress. She never offer an apology or compensation for loosing my dress. Thank God the person wanted their dress back. My dress was very expensive and could have been sold. Honestly, I thought that's what happened. So, she gets a 2 for making a horrible, careless, indifferent mistake. Her customer...
Read moreI was happy to find someone to alter a dress I had brought around the corner. She told me she could meet my timeline of 2 weeks, to alter a Mother of the Groom dress, and gave me an appointment to come back. I arrived at the appointed time, and she was not finished. She said she wanted me to see what she was doing first, before she completed it. At first I was a bit miffed, because she knew I was heading back home (800+ miles away) that afternoon. But once I saw what she was doing I was grateful, because she was not doing what we had agreed on. What the owner of the store where I brought the dress had called her, and asked her if she could do, before I brought the dress. So we discussed again, and I waited in the store for 90 minutes for her to finish. She steamed it and put it in the bag. I saw what looked liked what I had asked her to do, and assumed she had done so professionally. Shame on me for not opening the bag and checking, before I paid my balance and got it in the car. The zipper was only tacked in place after she let the dress out, the edge of the sleeves were stretched out of shape and wouldn’t lay flat after she added some trim…. The appliqué motifs she added to the sleeves were only tacked on, and three weren’t even sewn down, only pinned…. The waist trim that she had partially lifted in the back to make the alterations was left unattached. Yes, I could go on, but you get my drift. Problem after problem…. And she charged me $200! I live over 800 miles away, so there was no going back, once I got home two weeks later. It is $200 down the drain, because I had to pay someone else to fix everything. She may do a good hem, but if you need anything else done, I would suggest you find...
Read moreI wouldn't let this woman sew a button on for me. She ruined a silk jacket I bought to wear to my son's wedding. It looked like she sewed it with her feet, it was uneven, and so badly done. When I tried it on, I of course was not satisfied, and she kept telling me: "No, it's OK." She insisted on being paid before she did any work, which should have been a red flag for me. I brought the jacket to another tailor to see if it could be fixed/saved, but there was nothing he could do after she wrecked it. I cried for days, and I was forced to search for another outfit to wear. The dress I had brought to her to go with the jacket needed to be taken in on the sides. It was so baggy after she "tailored" it, I brought it elsewhere and it had to be taken in two inches on each side of the dress under my...
