I have been here before and typically have had a positive experience but this morning I showed up for an 80 minute massage, deep tissue with hot stones, and was told my massage was only 50 minutes.
While I understand technical glitches happen in the online booking system, I was told 80 minutes would be okay, only to undress and get on the table, then have someone come in and tell me my massage was only going to be 50 minutes. I was told someone had just booked the time after my massge.
Why wasn't the schedule blocked for 80 minutes after the glitch was identified? It should have been.
The staff was completely unable to troubleshoot this situation, telling me it would only be 50 minutes repeatedly as I was laying face down on the table.
I had booked this massage several days ago, and the appointment that came after mine was booked while I was on the table.
I asked of the staff could call the person who scheduled late to let them know the system booked over another appointment and the staff said no, even though there was room on another masseuse's schedule.
I ended up leaving before my massage even began given this was already 15 minutes AFTER my massage was scheduled to start.
How can a technical glitch lead to an double booking of an appointment, and result in the person who scheduled an appointment days before leaving?
It was aburd, unprofessional, and mindblowing that no one knew how to troubleshoot the situation. Instead of working to find a solution, the staff allowed for the loss of a $180 massage plus tip, and lost a customer.
Update: Immediately after posting this review, Tea Spa customer service reached out to apologize for this situation and said it should not have happened, that they would be conducting additional training for new employees.
They did offer a discounted massage at another location, North Bethesda. I booked a deep tissue massage with Lisa, followed by a 30 minute complimentary sauna session and it was a combined experience I never knew I needed. I will go back to...
Read moreWe got a couples massage with Sofia and the other woman. It was very chaotic and not a relaxing atmosphere. When we first got there was a lot of chaos and chatter from the back which we were surprised by in a massage / supposed to be calming environment. They brought us to a room and were playing around with the massage beds for at least 5 minutes. They said the beds weren’t heated so we moved to the next room. The beds were also not warm so we were confused. They didn’t say anything and left. No instructions or anything. They didn’t even ask us what our areas of focus were which we thought was strange. When I got into the massage bed there was no bottom sheet so it was uncomfortable. They started the massage and for the first 15 minutes they were speaking a different language to each other and were laughing so loud. It was extremely unprofessional and the opposite of a relaxing environment. Additionally their phones kept ringing throughout the massage so that was disturbing. Lastly Sofia did not put a pillow under my legs so my lower back was strained. For what we paid I expected way more than what we received. The massage did feel good but because of the chaotic and unprofessional environment it was...

I really appreciate it!! I understand that things happen all the time, and sometimes mistakes are made.
Tea Spa recognized this and did everything they could to ensure that I felt heard and accommodated for.
Thank you!!
I’m really upset right now.
The last time I came here, I had one of the best massages ever with Janie. Booked another appointment with her, got a confirmation of the booking and everything, and the morning of when I called to confirm my reservation before driving 40 minutes for my appointment they said she doesn’t even work on Sundays and I don’t have an appointment.
But guess what, they still redeemed my Groupon code even though they canceled the fake appointment they made for me. So now not only did they cancel my appointment last minute, but I’m out over $100 too.
What should’ve been a nice relaxing day turned into a really upsetting situation that I now have to try to work to resolve in just getting my money back for a service I never received.
I demand a refund immediately for you cancelling my appointment...
